The 35-year-old country singer — who last performed on the show in 2021 — recently announced that she will be dropping her first EP in three years.
The mini album, Deeper Well, will be released on March 15.
Sweeney’s hosting debut comes on the heels of the release of her two recent films, the critically reviled box office disappointment Madame Web and the surprise hit Anyone But You.
The romantic comedy, in which she starred in opposite Glen Powell, has so far grossed more than $200 million globally.

Following that success, Powell, 35, said that he and Sweeney both want to work on another romantic comedy together and have been looking for their next collaborative roles.
And in Sweeney’s upcoming project Immaculate, she will be making her horror movie debut and earning her first producer credit.
In the flick, she plays Cecilia, ‘an American nun of devout faith, embarking on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside,’ according to the synopsis.
Immaculate will be released in theaters on March 22.
