Kym Marsh has gone down under following her split from her toyboy lover Samuel Thomas to film a new Australian drama.

The former Coronation Street actress, 49, has taken a lead role in Channel 5’s Imposter alongside for Home And Away star Dannii Minouge, 53, and Neighbours’s Jackie Woodburne, 69, who played Susan Kennedy.

Kym, who is known for her character Michelle Connor in the soap, is set to take on the role of Amanda – a woman who claimed to be a long lost daughter of the starring family after being put up for adoption.

And in anticipation for the show’s release, Kym and the broadcast channel posted a picture of her stood alongside Dannii and Jackie.

In the snap, Kym looks chic in a red floral silk shirt dress which she paired with nude stilettos and a green necklace.

Sat on the arm of a chair next to her, singer Dannii cut a colourful display as she wore a pink, blue and purple dress and nude platform heels.

Jackie, known for playing the iconic role of Susan on Neighbours, joined the actresses as she sat in a green chair wearing an ankle-length black dress.

Kym, Dannii and Jackie have been spotted in recent weeks filming the new series around the city of Sydney.

Imposter is said to be centred around a murder at a seaside resort.

Jackie will play matriarch Helen, whose refusal to sell her seaside hotel sparks a dramatic family feud with her three adult children.

The series marks Jackie’s first non-Neighbours role in more than 30 years.

The plot thickens when Amanda, played by Kym, arrives claiming to be Helen’s long-lost daughter given up for adoption years ago.

As Amanda integrates into the family, doubts arise about her true identity, leading to a gripping tale of deception and betrayal that culminates in murder.

Kym’s new role in the thriller comes after she ended her whirlwind romance with toyboy Samuel, 29, who is 19 years her junior, after six months of being together

‘The lucrative hotel is the ultimate prize and a twisted scheme soon spirals into betrayal and ultimately, murder,’ the synopsis teased.

The show will be a four-part series, with each episode being an hour long and is being produced by Fremantle Australia for Channel 5.

Kym’s new role in the thriller comes after she ended her whirlwind romance with toyboy Samuel, 29, who is 19 years her junior, after six months of being together.

She ended her romance with the performer before Christmas, after the pair finished touring with the show 101 Dalmatians: The Musical.

The singer was forced to defend herself after revealing her romance with Samuel, who is the same age as her oldest son, having gushed on social media that he is her ‘soulmate.’

Amid her break-up, sources told The Sun at the time that once their tour finished, Kym found it more difficult to spent time with him.

A source told the publication: ‘Kym and Sam fell head over heels when they first met and couldn’t wait to tell the world.

‘But once Kym’s role in 101 Dalmatians ended it became harder to spend time together and some of the magic they had at the beginning just disappeared.

‘It’s such a shame, especially before Christmas but Kym surrounded herself with family.’

Imposter is said to be ‘coming soon’ but the official airing date is yet to be confirmed.
