Jo Whiley broke down in tears as she revealed her husband accidentally killed their cat in a tragic accident this week.
Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast Dig It, the radio DJ, 60, was overcome with emotion as she told her co-host Zoe Ball about the family’s heartbreak.
Sharing the news of Simba’s passing, she began: ‘I feel like I haven’t been honest about what’s going on in my life.
‘But I can’t. I just can’t talk about it. I was going to, but I’m not going to now.’
Composing herself amid her tears she continued: ‘We had a horrible thing happen yesterday.
‘We came back from holiday and I got a call from Steve in a complete panic. He had come home – it sounds ridiculous to say – but he had run our cat over. It’s really sad.’
