Louis Tomlinson’s fans were caught in a stampede at the Riverstage venue in Brisbane, Australia, where the British singer is set to perform on Tuesday night.
Scores of ticket holders had lined up overnight hoping to secure a coveted front row position at the concert.
However they were turned away by the venue, with camping prohibited, and promised early arrivers would be granted numbered wrist bands from 9.30am Tuesday morning to keep their position in the queue, the Brisbane Times reports.
A line of 2000 fans arrived in an attempt to secure the 500 blue wrist bands on offer, with fights breaking out in the fray.
There was further anger when fans learned others who had turned up on Monday were already given gold wrist bands, with the stoush ending in a stampede.

‘We were getting thrown against the trees. A mum lost her two daughters, they were like 10 and nine years old,’ Madison Francis, 15, told the Brisbane Times on Tuesday.
”It was very dangerous, there were a couple of injuries.’
Another fan, Elizabeth Hales, told the paper that fans were ‘jumping over the gates’ leading to a ‘hectic’ situation.
A Brisbane City Council spokesperson said that in future, such events will be better managed.
‘Due to severe weather warnings, council officers acted in the interests of young fans who had queued early, despite the rules against this,’ the spokesperson told the Brisbane Times.

‘The event promoter later opted to honour the wristbands handed out by officers.
‘Council will be having discussions with all promoters to ensure their events are safely managed.’
The pop star, who rose to fame in boy band One Direction, made a low-key arrival into Sydney on Friday morning ahead of his national tour.
Louis kicked off the tour in Melbourne on Sunday.
He will play arena shows in Brisbane on Tuesday, January 30 before returning to Sydney for a show on Friday, February 2.
During his last visit, Louis made headlines after he accused The Project’s Carrie Bickmore and Peter Helliar of stirring up a One Direction feud.

Peter asked: ‘There’s been a bit of 1D beef recently thanks to Liam who’s been speaking out about the band a little bit. When you look back on your experience about the band, how do you feel about your experience of those days?’
A suspicious Louis replied: ‘Oh, so the fishing’s begun already! Yeah, I see what you’re doing. No, listen, I’m immensely proud, as I know Liam is, I’m immensely proud of those days, obviously.’
‘It was an incredible thing to do, especially at such a young age and I have amazing memories, amazing memories.’
Pushing Louis further, Carrie asked if he ever gets fed up that he’s still linked to One Direction despite their split in 2016.
She asked: ‘Louis, when you say, ‘Aw, the fishing’s begun,’ I imagine it is so annoying having to answer retrospective questions like that. Do you want to talk about that time in your life to the media versus how much you never have to want to talk about it again?’
Louis responded: ‘I’m more than happy to talk about it in every interview. It’s something I’m immensely proud of, as I’d already said, it’s just when you mentioned the beef before, it sounded like you were getting ready to stir some s**t up, that’s all I’m saying.’
