Country music legend John Williamson has pulled out of the Tamworth festival after suffering a gruesome arm injury.
The singer-songwriter, 78, underwent emergency surgery after he ripped skin off his left arm and injured muscles and nerves while working on his Gold Coast property.
John shared the sad news with fans on Wednesday alongside a photo of his heavily bandaged arm.
‘I’m recovering from a hand surgery after an accident at #willoshed. My rock sculptures & concerts have been paused for about a month,’ he wrote.
‘I apologise to everyone who was looking forward to my Tamworth concert as well as Redland, Ipswich and Toowoomba’

He continued: ‘I’ll see you at Tamworth for the Golden Guitar Awards and perhaps a cold beer instead.’
Many fans expressed their concern and sent him their well wishes.
‘Get well soon John. Keep on playing. So appreciate your songs absolutely love them man. Keep up the great work,’ one person wrote.
‘That doesn’t look good at the moment, but medical science has become incredible and can get amazing results. All the best old Mate,’ another commented.

The singer was due to play at the Tamworth festival on January 26.
His shows in Redland, Ipswich and Toowoomba in early February will be rescheduled to a later date this year.
