Teletubbies debuted on screens in 1997 and centered on four differently coloured characters known as the Teletubbies.

It quickly became a pop culture phenomenon and won multiple BAFTA awards during its original run.

Jess told the BBC South East in 2015 it was by pure chance she landed her role on the show.

‘I was being weighed at the hospital,’ she said. ‘My mum took me and it just happened to be the same time that the producer of the old series had come in and wanted the hospital to get in contact with them if they’d seen any smiley babies.’

She revealed her father would sit behind the cameras playing toys and cars to make her do her famous giggle heard on the show.

It wasn’t until 2015 that she revealed her identity after previously preferring to keep it a secret.

She said: ‘I used to hide it but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I’ve gained the confidence to come out with it.’

‘I am the sun from the Teletubbies. Everyone says they can see the likeness between my face now and me as a baby.

‘I still have a baby face. I haven’t changed much either. I am still giggly.’
