Sofia Vergara has gone viral for shutting down a male interviewer in Spain over ‘speaking better English.’
The 51-year-old actress has been on the worldwide promotional trail to promote upcoming Netflix series Griselda.
Earlier this week she appeared on Spanish talk show El Hormiguero where she did not seem to be a fan of interviewer Pablo Motos’ line of questioning.
In the Spanish language interview, Vergara was asked about her time starring as Gloria Pritchett in award winning sitcom Modern Family from 2009 to 2020.

However while she was answering the question, Motos interrupts her and asks ‘How do you say Modern Family?’ seemingly to poke fun at her accent.
Vergara used her signature with impressively quickly as she nearly instantly responds ‘I say it wrong? Oh, because you speak better English than me? Ah.’
Her comedic timing was very much on display as she turned away from the presenter with a dismayed look on her face.
Then when Motos begins to talk again, she quickly roasts him again as she said: ‘How many Emmy nominations do you have in the United States?’
Vergara then goes for the jugular as she references the award show that just happened on Sunday.
She said: ‘How many times did they nominate you at the Golden Globes?’
Vergara – who was once the highest-paid actress on television – boasts an impressive four Emmy and four Golden Globes nominations throughout her career.
In her upcoming project Griselda, the actress stars as Colombian drug cartel leader Griselda Blanco – known as the Cocaine Godmother – in the six part series which debuts January 25.

Blanco is considered one of the most profitable cartels in history.
The career criminal, who was only five feet tall, was involved with pickpocketing and prostitution from a young age – but it didn’t take long before her crimes began to escalate.
Having been plunged into the cocaine industry by her second husband, who she later killed, Griselda built a thriving drugs empire that saw her earning more than $80 million every month.
She embraced her criminal persona – her nicknames were The Black Widow, The Godmother of Cocaine and The Boss – and was not afraid to flaunt her ill-gotten gains.

In 2022, Vergara revealed it took two hours in the makeup chair to transform into her character
But things began to unravel after she was incarcerated as authorities sought to press charges against the devoted mother for more than 200 murders.
Griselda went on to serve 10 years behind bars before being deported back to Colombia where she was shot and killed aged 69 as she stepped out of a butcher’s shop.
She still ranks among the most notorious drug lords in history and has been a central figure in documentaries such Cocaine Cowboys (2006) and Cocaine Cowboys 2: Hustlin’ with the Godmother (2008) – as well as film The Cocaine Godmother (2017) starring Catherine Zeta Jones.
