David Walliams Sends Sir Elton John Into Laughter with Wild Dance at St. Tropez Lunch

David Walliams left pal Sir Elton John in stitches as he got to his feet to dance during their swanky lunch at the La Guerite beach club in St Tropez.

The comedian, 53, couldn’t contain his excitement when Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) was played, much to the amusement of the pop icon, 78.

David stood at the table and swayed animatedly to the music, before moving to dance with his hands on the back of Sir Elton’s chair.

The Crocodile Rock legend, who looked smart in a summer shirt, appeared in great spirits and sang along before collapsing into fits of giggles.

David, shielding his eyes behind shades, was loving every moment and had a huge grin on his face as the other diners laughed along.

He shared the clip to X and captioned it: ‘Summer holiday’.

As well as Elton David was joined by Heartstopper stars Kit Connor, 21, Joe Locke, 21, and Tobie Donovan, 23, sharing snaps as they soaked up the sun together.

The La Guerite beach club is the very place that Sir Elton reportedly ‘said his piece’ about the Beckham feud as he dined at the swanky eatery with Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz last month.

The once close-knit Beckham family has been thrown into turmoil in recent months, amid claims Brooklyn has become increasingly estranged from his famous parents after failing to attend any of his father 50th birthday celebrations in May.

It was also revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola’s Instagram accounts no longer follow his younger brothers in the latest family drama.

According to The Sun, Sir Elton ‘briefly’ spoke about the family’s feud in the hope Brooklyn would patch things up with his parents, and footage of the outing shared on social media showed the pair shaking hands.

Speaking about Elton’s attempts to play peacekeeper in the row, a source said: ‘Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland. He’s utterly neutral in this row.

‘Elton of old may have relished in taking sides – in this case his young godson, Brooklyn – but two years off his 80th birthday, he’s a man who has seen and done it all. He just wants everyone to be happy.

‘There is no side-taking as such; he simply adores his godson, and really has a laugh with Nicola who he thinks has a great sense of humour. He wants to look after them in his role as ‘spiritual adviser’ as a godfather, it’s a role he takes seriously.

‘Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and has gently suggested to all involved that life is short – to patch things up.’

The source added Elton is ‘adamant he doesn’t want to stick his nose in’ the feud, he just simply ‘wants peace’.

Sir Elton is also said to have generously picked up the entire bill, after dining on the restaurant’s signature lobster linguine which comes in at an eye-watering £190.

David affectionately calls the musician ‘Uncle Elton’ after becoming friends in his football heyday.

Sir Elton was due to perform at the Beckhams wedding in 1999 before suffering a heart attack that prevented him from playing. He later sang at one of the children’s christenings.

Meanwhile Victoria once disclosed that it was Elton who inspired her to say goodbye to the Spice Girls, penning an emotional letter to her older self where she confessed that watching her friend perform made her realise that her true calling lay beyond singing.

It comes after Elton poured cold water on rumours he’s planning a flashy ABBA-style hologram concert, despite fans thinking the tech-filled spectacle could be next on the cards.

Hopeful supporters began speculating after spotting trademark documents for his name covering holograms, video projections and immersive 3D virtual reality experiences.

But according to reports, those close to the Rocket Man have made it clear there’s no such show in the pipeline.

Elton has long made his stance clear, previously admitting in 2018 that the idea wasn’t for him.

However, during his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, he did briefly dabble in the digital world with a London pop-up at King’s Cross, which featured an augmented reality version of him playing the piano.
