Katherine Jenkins revealed the ‘daunting experience’ she had while being directed by her husband Andrew Levitas for the movie, Minamata.
The opera singer, 43, said working together overall ‘went quite well’ as she chatted on The Jonathan Ross Show, Christmas Special, set to air on Christmas Eve (December 24).
The Welsh mezzo-soprano told the host that during filming, she found herself in a scene with Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy.
Minamata is a 2020 biographical drama film set in 1971, which sees photographer W. Eugene Smith travel to a city in Japan ravaged by mercury poisoning.
Katherine said: ‘I sort of got talked into the role. I don’t have much experience of doing things like that.

‘I found myself in a scene with Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy, which was quite daunting. But they were very patient and encouraging.
‘I hadn’t seen him [my husband] in that sort of situation so it was amazing to see what he does and see how much he loves it.
‘Obviously went quite well as we started a business together this year. We clearly like working together.’
This is not the first time they have worked together as they are both co-owners of their gin company, Cygnet Welsh Dry Gin.
Katherine added: ‘We have a gin company. We’re both creatives.
‘We don’t always agree and we don’t always have to agree, but there’s quite often a time when we’ll be on a board call and I realise it sounds like we’re having a domestic and everybody else is like, “OK, we’ll pick this up later”…’.
