Jane Fonda, 88, is pushed in wheelchair at airport after Reiner murders left her ‘reeling’

Jane Fonda was seen being pushed along in a wheelchair as she arrived at LAX this week to catch a plane out of Los Angeles.

The 88-year-old Hollywood legend, whose careers as an actress and activist are still in full swing, cut a glamorous figure for her latest flight.

She was wrapped in a luscious fur coat, warding off the California rays with a gleaming pair of bronze-tinted butterfly sunglasses.

Fonda accessorized with gold jewelry, including rings and earrings, and wore her silver hair in a curly bob that brought back memories of the 1950s.

Her luminous complexion – which she has confessed to using plastic surgery to keep looking youthful – was accentuated with subtle makeup.

The wheelchair was operated by a woman who appeared to be from the airline staff, with Fonda carrying two small bags in her lap as her other luggage sat on a trolley.

The Daily Mail has contacted Fonda’s representatives for comment.

The 9 to 5 star’s sighting comes weeks after she revealed she saw Rob and Michele Reiner the night before their murder, for which their son Nick is awaiting trial.

Fonda and the Reiners had all been guests at Conan O’Brien’s star-studded Christmas party on the evening before the bodies were discovered, allegedly by the late couple’s daughter Romy, 28, who lived across the street.

Nick, 32, who had a history of substance abuse and was also reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia, is said to have argued fiercely with his parents at the party.

Fonda however made no mention of any family dispute when she shared her own memories of seeing the Reiner couple on the final night of their lives.

‘Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder,’ she wrote on Instagram the day after they were found dead.

‘They had been helping me launch the Committee for the First Amendment. I saw them the night before last looking healthy and happy. I am reeling with grief. Stunned.’

The Committee for the First Amendment was originally founded in 1947 by Fonda’s movie star father Henry Fonda in response to the Hollywood blacklist of communist talent during the Red Scare. His daughter relaunched the organization late last year.

At the party Fonda attended with the Reiners, Nick was seen having what sources described as a ‘very loud argument’ with his parents, according to TMZ.

Michele, by that point, was alleged to have spent months telling friends about trying to cope with Nick’s drug and mental problems, saying: ‘We’ve tried everything.’

‘Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,’ a source told People while describing the party.

One insider told the Daily Mail: ‘They got in an argument, the father and son. It got so bad and loud someone wanted to call the police to report it.’

The source added that ‘Conan stepped in and said: “It’s my house, my party, I’m not calling the police.” He talked them out of calling the police.’

Jane Fonda and Rob Reiner were both showbiz legacies – she as Henry Fonda’s daughter and he has the son of The Dick Van Dyke Show creator Carl Reiner.

Dick Van Dyke’s character on the sitcom was named Rob Petrie after Rob Reiner, who was 14 years old when the pilot episode aired on CBS.
