Ansel Elgort becomes first time dad as he’s seen carrying newborn baby in New York

Ansel Elgort has welcomed his first child.

The 31-year-old actor stepped out in New York City this week carrying the newborn, who was adorably dressed in a white fleece onesie with animal ears.

A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the West Side Story star recently became a father.

Elgort has yet to publicly reveal the infant’s name and sex, but looked overjoyed while strolling alongside a woman in the Big Apple.  

The baby was secured in a blue front-facing carrier, with the new dad affectionately holding him or her close.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Elgort’s reps for comment.
