Jessica Simpson had one of the most iconic reality TV show moments back in 2003 when she embarrassingly confused tuna and chicken.
And now, some 22 years later, the 45-year-old singer teased her upcoming collaboration with canned tuna brand, Chicken Of The Sea.
Simpson made the surprise announcement on Tuesday via her Instagram page.
She wrote to her 6.2 million followers: ‘New collab coming soon! I’ll give you a hint… It’s Mermaid Approved!’
The mother-of-three included several photos of herself at a recent Chicken Of The Sea event, where she modeled a flirty black feather-trim dress.
She also posed holding a packet of Chicken Of The Sea’s Wild Caught Light Tuna ‘lightly seasoned’ with Frank’s RedHot sauce in two shots.

Simpson looked incredible in her minidress, which was styled with sheer black tight and tall black heels.
Also included in Simpson’s IG slideshow were up-close selfies of her makeup and hair.
Instead of her signature bleach blonde, the With You hitmaker is now rocking light brunette hair.Â
Fans of Simpson rejoiced in the comments section, with many writing ‘finally’ and calling the collaboration ‘iconic.’
Simpson’s hilarious Chicken Of The Sea moment occurred during a 2003 episode of her short-lived MTV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, starring herself and then-husband Nick Lachey.
In the episode, Simpson, who was 23 at the time, ate a can of Chicken Of The Sea brand tuna and asked: ‘Is this chicken what I have or is it fish?’
Lachey eventually let her know that it was indeed tuna and Simpson has been living it down ever since.
While it’s unclear what Simpson and Chicken Of The Sea will be collaborating on in 2026, the star previously worked with the brand two years ago.

Including her 13-year-old daughter Maxwell, Simpson filmed a hilarious advertisement in 2024 poking fun at her viral question.
The ad, which was shared to social media, began with Simpson sitting on the couch eating a packet of the tuna. Â
‘Mom, what are you eating in the packet,’ Maxwell asks her mother, who explains she is snacking on something ‘called Chicken of the Sea.’Â
‘It’s not really chicken — it’s tuna,’ Simpson tells her eldest child. ‘So don’t get confused by it.’
Maxwell then responds: ‘Who would get confused by that?’
‘No one. Not your Mom,’ Simpson says, before letting out an awkward laugh.
At the end of the commercial, Simpson speaks to the audience directly as she assures them she knows ‘it’s tuna’ now after nearly two decades of ridicule over the flub.
Simpson shares Maxwell, along with daughter Birdie Mae, six, and son Ace, 12, with ex-husband Eric Johnson.
She also posed holding a packet of Chicken Of The Sea’s Wild Caught Light Tuna ‘lightly seasoned’ with Frank’s RedHot sauce, which retails for $1 at Wal-Mart, in two shots

She and the 46-year-old former NFL star confirmed their split in January 2025 after 10 years of marriage.
Since then, Simpson has been forging a major comeback with a new album and a guest spot on Kim Kardashian’s hit Hulu show All’s Fair.
Earlier this week, Simpson revealed if she’d ever make her long-awaited return to reality TV by one day becoming The Bachelorette.
The superstar simply told TMZÂ on Monday:Â ‘I have options, I’m good.’
When the outlet brought up the ‘huge ratings’ her headlining the ABC dating competition would undoubtedly bring, Simpson scoffed: ‘I don’t care about that.’Â
