Metallica are reportedly working out a deal to have a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The heavy metal group, made up of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo, are said to be in talks to play at the venue in 2027.
A source told The Sun: ‘Metallica having a residency at the Sphere is all anyone is talking about on the Strip.
‘They have been to see the bosses and met all the tech team to talk through and plan out a show in principle.
‘The contracts are still to be signed but we were told they are 90 per cent there. Metallica will bring a different feel to a show there and there is a lot of excitement from bosses at the Sphere about what this could look like.’
Metallica are also due to have several big shows in the UK this year with gigs in London, Cardiff and Glasgow.

The Sphere has a capacity of 20,000 people and is known for its exterior LED displays which are the largest in the world.
Several other acts have had residencies at the Sphere including U2, the Eagles and the Backstreet Boys.
Metallica frontman James Hetfield is in a relationship with fashion designer Adriana Gillett.
Prior to his romance with Adriana, James was married to costume designer Francesca Tomasi from 1997 before they separated in 2022.
During their 25 years together, he former couple share three children — daughters Cali Tee, 26, Marcella Francesca, 23, and son Castor Virgil, 24.
The pair reportedly have an amicable co-parenting relationship amid his romance with his newfound love.
At the time of their divorce, however, Francesca admitted she was ‘extremely saddened’ that their longterm marriage had deteriorated.
In August 2022, shortly after it was revealed that Hetfield had filed for divorce, Francesca shared a statement with TMZ.

Previously, Hetfield shared rare insight into their marriage and revealed that his then-wife had helped him deal with his anger and addiction issues.
Since then, Hetfield’s romance with his girlfriend has seemingly only continued to thrive after about two years together based on her Instagram posts.
In October 2024, she shared a photo of her enjoying a hot spring soak with her beau and referred to him as the ‘joy of my life.’
‘He makes me the happiest gal alive,’ she wrote alongside a snap of them smiling while vacationing in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
