Costeen Hatzi reveals she ‘can’t wait to experience the Australian Open in a new light’ following break-up with Nick Kyrgios

Costeen Hatzi has revealed where she stands with tennis and the Australian Open, following her breakup with Nick Kyrgios.

The 25-year-old influencer recently hosted a Q&A with her Instagram fans and confirmed she would be attending the Australian Open in Melbourne later this month.

‘Yes, absolutely! I’m heading off at the end of this week and can’t wait to experience the AO in a new light,’ Costeen told fans.

‘I’m going with some incredible Australian fashion and beauty brands. And of course, watching a little tennis too!’

Costeen’s announcement follows her tennis star ex Nick Kyrgios revealing he was withdrawing from singles matches at the upcoming AO, so he could focus on doubles.

‘I’m not quite ready to go the distance,’ he said in a statement.

Costeen and Nick began dating back in 2021, but The Herald Sun revealed last May that the pair had quietly split up.

‘We haven’t spoken, relationships come to an end,’ Hatzi said to the outlet in May. ‘I believe it’s for the best. I definitely entered the relationship with pure intentions.

‘I loved him and thought we had a great connection. Now that I’m not travelling, I can do what I want and be fully present.’

While they were together, the social media star, who has 175,000 followers on Instagram, was regularly seen travelling around the world, cheering her ex-boyfriend on from the stands.

The couple began dating in 2021, with Kyrgios having previously revealed that they had met when he came to pick up a mirror from her that she had been selling on social media.

Costeen had said that it had been ‘love at first sight,’ with the pair going public with their relationship in 2022.

Since their split, Nick has been focusing hard on getting back to full fitness, with the Australian having been plagued by a raft of injuries since he finished as a runner-up in the men’s singles at Wimbledon in 2022.

Questions had been bubbling away over whether Nick would be offered a wildcard to play in the men’s singles at the Australian Open next week.

However, the Aussie turned down an offer to play in the men’s singles, with Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley reasoning that Nick had made the ‘right decision’, noting that he was still struggling with injuries and form.

It came as Nick crashed out of the Brisbane International last week, before making a sad admission that surgeries on a knee injury and a wrist ligament injury had ‘dragged him down’.

Despite that, Nick looks set to still play in the men’s doubles this year at Melbourne Park.

‘After some good conversations with (Tennis Australia), I’ve made the call to focus on doubles at this year’s AO,’ he said on social media on Friday.

Nick, who recently beat women’s No 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the Battle of the Sexes exhibition clash, added: ‘I’m fit and back on court, but five-setters are a different beast and I’m not quite ready to go the distance yet.

‘This tournament means everything to me, but I’d rather give my spot to someone who’s ready to make their moment count. It’s all building blocks and I’ll be back next year and pumped to compete.’
