‘I am so broken’: Jodie Marsh breaks down in tears and says she’s lost ‘everything valuable’ after devastating fire at her farm killed two animals she hand reared from birth

Jodie Marsh has broken down in tears on social media as she revealed she has lost ‘everything valuable’ after a devastating house fire at her farm.

The model has been left ‘so broken’ after two of her beloved animals, which had been hand reared from birth, were tragically killed in the blaze.

Jodie, who turned her back on fame to run Fripps Farm in Essex, has now broken her silence on the fire which sadly killed her two marmosets – small monkeys more commonly found in South America.

In a teary video, she explained that the accidental insident started from an air purifier setting alight and that the upstairs of her home is ‘destroyed’.

She said: ‘It started from a s***y air purifier I had bought from Amazon and I had only had it for six months and done everything right changing the filters on it and everything and it caught fire.

‘It set light to my bedroom and has destroyed the whole of the upstairs of my house, it’s destroyed.

‘I will be moving as soon as everything is fixed as nobody wants to buy a house like this and I will be going far, far, far away form Uttlesford.

‘I don’t care about my house being destroyed I’ve lost everything that is of value to me, I lost two baby marmosets.

‘It’s broken me beyond belief I’ve given up my whole life for these animals and those babies meant everything to me’, fighting tears she added, ‘I’m so broken’.

The farm is home to hundreds of animals, most of which the former reality television star says have been rescued.

The animals include emus, llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and deer. There is also an enclosure full of peacocks and chickens, with geese and ducks roaming around.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service raced to the scene shortly before 5pm on Saturday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Firefighters were called at 4.56pm to a fire in Lindsell, Dunmow.

‘On arrival, the property was full of smoke and crews discovered a fire in the upstairs bedroom.

‘Crews worked hard to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading. The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental, started by an electrical item.’

Fripps Farm is located just north of Dunmow in the North Essex countryside and Jodie has become known for housing many rescued animals at the five acre property.

Fripps Farm hasn’t been without its controversies amid neighbour rows and court battles.

In June of this year, Jodie was left in tears of joy after winning a court battle to keep lemurs at the sanctuary.

She had appealed against a council’s decision to refuse her application for a wild animal licence. Concerns had been raised about her taking a meerkat to the pub.

Former Page 3 girl Jodie said trolls were behind much of the criticism and at a previous hearing, clips of screeching zoo lemurs were played to Chelmsford magistrates’ court.

But Judge Christopher Williams dismissed the council’s argument about the animals’ noise.
