The Block’s Dani Wales has shared a heartbreaking post about losing her firstborn at just ten days old.
Dani and fellow Block star Dan Reilly’s daughter Billie died in December 2024.
In November last year, the couple shared the happy news they were expecting a second baby almost a year after Billie’s death.
Including a photo of her growing baby bump, Dani reflected on the couple’s painful loss.
Describing the last 12 months as ‘horrific’, Dani told followers she was feeling less ‘overwhelmed’ by her grief.
‘Stepping into 2026 with a renewed sense of self, purpose & energy (most days),’ Dani wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday.

‘[After] a horrifically painful year, I’m so relieved [it’s] now behind me.
‘Showing up for others was hard — but showing up for myself was even harder at times.
‘With so many “firsts” I should have experienced with my daughter falling in 2025, the weight of getting through the year was a lot to carry,’ she added.
‘And even though there’s still a lifetime of firsts, still to come, it somehow now feels just a little less overwhelming. At least for today anyway.
She concluded: ‘I’m moving into this year with clarity — ready to welcome and feel everything coming my way, knowing that my grief will start to walk beside immense joy, and that the two can and will co-exist.
‘It’s a year of new life, both literally & figuratively. Closing chapters. Opening new ones. New ventures, goals, places & faces… and my perfect girl with me every step of the way.’
Friends and followers were quick to send messages of support.
‘Dani, you are a warrior. Looking forward to reading all your wonderful news this year,’ one wrote.
‘What an ordeal you’ve been through, no family should have to endure. I’m so looking forward to seeing you bloom this year. Congratulations,’ said another.

‘Dani, you and Dan are amazing. Precious Billie will be with you always, especially as you welcome her little brother or sister xx,’ wrote a third person.
Alongside her message to her followers was a picture of the reality star walking her two dogs along the water.
Dani showed off her baby bump in a black bikini top and cut-off denim shorts.
To honour their first daughter’s memory, Dan and Dani have established Billie’s Besties, a foundation that aims to raise money for the NICU at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.
The couple tied the knot in 2018 in an intimate ceremony on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, after rising to fame on The Block in 2012.
