Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas can’t keep their hands off each other as they ooze glamour at Golden Globe Awards

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were the image of a sizzling couple incapable of keeping their hands off each other at the Golden Globe Awards.

A parade of showbiz luminaries flooded into the Beverly Hilton for the ceremony, which is being hosted by comic Nikki Glaser for the second year in a row.

Chopra, 43, cut a glamorous figure in a full-length midnight blue frock that brought back memories of Old Hollywood, with its two-tiered skirt and lamé top.

The off-the-shoulder number offered up a glimpse of cleavage, and was accessorized with a dazzling diamond necklace.

Her luscious hair fell free in waves, and she brought out her luminous complexion with makeup, proving how little she has aged since her rise to fame as a beauty queen turned Bollywood superstar.

She clung amorously to her besuited husband, 33, who once won a Golden Globe for a song called Home that he wrote for the animated movie Ferdinand.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, a darkly comic epic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, is the most nominated movie at the Golden Globes, competing for nine awards including Best Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Wicked: For Good was snubbed in that category, where the nominees include Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice and Nouvelle Vague.

Meanwhile the contenders for Best Picture – Drama include Guillermo Del Toro’s take on Frankenstein, Chloe Zhao’s Shakespeare biopic Hamnet and the buzzy supernatural western Sinners from Black Panther director Ryan Coogler.

Norwegian director Joachim Von Trier’s tragicomedy Sentimental Value is also in the running for that prize, as is last year’s Palme d’Or winner It Was Just an Accident, the latest work of Iranian auteur Jafar Panahi.

As for television, the Netflix series Adolescence nabbed acting nods for all its stars – Ashley Walters, Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty and 16-year-old Owen Cooper.

Adolescence is also up for Best Limited TV Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for TV, vying for the honor against All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Black Mirror, Dying for Sex and The Girlfriend.

With five nods to its name, Adolescence was narrowly beaten by the latest season of The White Lotus, which earned six nominations including for its stars Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood.

Best Male Actor – Television is a category that has drawn particular attention, with an all-star fleet of nominees comprised of Sterling K. Brown for Paradise, Diego Luna for Andor, Gary Oldman for Slow Horses, Mark Ruffalo for Task, Adam Scott for Severance and Noah Wyle for The Pitt

Although the Golden Globes have long been known for honoring both movies and TV, this year’s ceremony will for the first time add podcasts into the mix.

The show will as such feature 28 categories, each of which has six nominees, with the exception of Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which has eight.

Paul Mescal’s turn as William Shakespeare in Hamnet has earned him a nod for Best Supporting Male Actor – Motion Picture, another fierce competition.

The men pitted against him for the gong are Benicio Del Toro for One Battle After Another, Jacob Elordi for Frankenstein, Sean Penn for One Battle After Another, Adam Sandler for Jay Kelly and Stellan Skarsgard for Sentimental Value.

Meanwhile Timothee Chalamet is hoping for his first Golden Globe win as a nominee for Marty Supreme, having lost out last year when he was nominated for his performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

The Norwegian family drama Sentimental Value is just behind One Battle After Another in the contest for the most nominations, having racked up a total of eight.

Sinners is trailing just behind Sentimental Value with seven nominations, while Hamnet has five – the same amount as Wicked: For Good.

Although the second Wicked film was snubbed for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, its stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande managed to land acting nods.

Best Actress – Drama is a tussle between Jennifer Lawrence for Die My Love, Julia Roberts for After the Hunt, Tessa Thompson for Hedda, Jessie Buckley for Hamnet and – in a surprise turn – Eva Victor for the independent feature Sorry Baby.

Helen Mirren was pre-announced as the recipient of this year’s lifetime achievement award, which is named for the pioneering Old Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille.
