Britney Spears sends Australian fans into a frenzy as she shares massive tour news

Britney Spears may be embarking on her first Australian tour in 17 years.

The American pop star hinted that she could soon be taking to the stage Down Under in a new Instagram post this week.

The 44-year-old shared videos of herself dancing with her son Jayden on Instagram, followed by another post in which she suggested that the 19-year-old might accompany her ‘very soon’ when she returns to the stage.

Spears then shared details for a long-hoped-for series of comeback performances, but she didn’t have any good news to share with her fans located in the United States.

‘I will never perform in the US again because of extremely sensitive reasons but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son… in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon,’ she wrote.

Spears gushed,’ He’s a huge star and I’m so humbled to be in his presence!!! God speed, little man!!!’

The last time Britney was in Australia to perform was during her The Circus tour in 2009.

Fans went wild over the news, with several sharing their excitement in posts made on social media platform X.

‘AUSTRALIA!?!! Say less, queen. We love you!’ wrote one person, while another said, ‘I have a savings account on standby.’

‘Britney always rises above her story, her strength, her music. Imagining her on that stool with a red rose, performing with her son, is pure magic. UK and Australia, brace yourselves – this is going to be legendary,’ commented another.

Someone else chimed in: ‘We love you Britney. Take all the time you need and perform wherever you feel safe and happy. Australia is ready for you queen!’

Spears’ most recent US concerts were in 2018 as part of her Pieces Of Me tour.

She seems to have changed her tune about performing, as she claimed in September 2022 that she would never perform again.

In a quickly deleted Instagram post, she bizarrely complained about having to perform on stage with the ‘tiniest girls’ as backup dancers.

In 2023, there were wild reports that Britney was coming to Australia to promote her tell-all memoir, The Woman in Me.

A pop culture website said the pop star planned to, ‘drive around the Harbour City in a Britney-themed bus and hand out copies of her book’ to eager fans.

A ‘Britney’ did indeed roll around town on promotional duties in October that year, but it was not Britney Spears.

A bus featuring a Britney impersonator stopped near the iconic Sydney Opera House to celebrate the highly anticipated tome.

The first 50 fans to find the vehicle on the day were personally handed a copy of the memoir from the ‘Britney’ impersonator.
