Emily Ratajkowski celebrated New York City’s new mayor Zohran Mamdani with a racy new post, which was slammed as ‘disrespectful’ by some fans.
The model, 34, shared a clip of herself twerking at a bodega in a see-through black skirt as she dedicated her new Instagram post to ‘Mamdani’s New York.’
The Gone Girl star showed off her moves in the chip aisle, while rocking an open-back crop top to cheer on the new socialist mayor — the first Muslim leader of America’s biggest city — a week after he was sworn in.
Meanwhile the second slide in her carousel featured a stark change, as Ratajkowski put on a demure display in a white head covering and a long-sleeve white top while visiting what appeared to be the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
A third snap showed her taking a selfie, with her white T-shirt hiked up to reveal her cleavage, which the model tastefully cropped to comply with social media standards.
She completed the post with a Halloween photo featuring her with four-year-old son Sylvester Apollo Bear as they walked down the street for some trick-or-treating.

‘mamdani’s new york!!’ Ratajkowski captioned her post.
Fans had a mixed reaction in the comments, with some calling the pairing of the sultry snap and video with the image inside the mosque ‘disrespectful.’
‘Emily I like you but the juxtaposition between the first two slides is lowkey disrespectful,’ one wrote.
‘Love you queen but you’re just disrespecting the hijab,’ someone else added.
‘Anything for attention huh,’ another quipped.
However others found the post amusing, with one writing, ‘The chip aisle? Cracks me up.’
‘She’s got range,’ another added.
‘Potato chips never looked so good!’ another chimed in.

Mamdani became mayor of New York City on January 1st, taking the oath of office at an historic, decommissioned subway station in Manhattan.
Mamdani, a Democrat, was sworn in as the first Muslim leader of the Big Apple, placing his hand on a Quran as he took his oath.
In a campaign that helped make ‘affordability’ a buzzword across the political spectrum, Mamdani promised to bring transformative change with policies intended to lower the cost of living in one of the world´s most expensive cities.
His platform included free child care, free buses, a rent freeze for about 1 million households, and a pilot of city-run grocery stores.
And in addition to being the city’s first Muslim mayor, Mamdani is also its first of South Asian descent and the first to be born in Africa. At 34, Mamdani is also the city’s youngest mayor in generations.
He was born in Kampala, Uganda, the son of filmmaker Mira Nair and Mahmood Mamdani, an academic and author. His family moved to New York City when he was 7. He became an American citizen in 2018.
Ratajkowski has been openly vocal about her political views and activism.
In 2016 she hit the campaign trail in support of Bernie Sanders.

And back in 2020 she was one of several celebrities using their platform to speak up over the police killing of George Floyd.
She took to the streets of Los Angeles to march with her then husband Sebastian and other supporters of the Black Lives Matter cause, while holding up a sign that read ‘defund the police.’
Ratajkowski was raised in California and attended UCLA before dropping out after her first year to pursue modelling full time.
She shot to fame after her nude performance in Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines, and since then has balanced appearing in the pages of Vogue and in campaigns for designers such as Marc Jacobs with a film career that has seen her appear in films including Gone Girl and We Are Your Friends.
