David Harbour has dropped out of what was supposed to be his next film project in the aftermath of the Stranger Things finale.
The actor, 50, was due to appear in the upcoming movie Behemoth! alongside Pedro Pascal and Olivia Wilde but has quit the Searchlight Pictures production.
Searchlight Pictures confirmed to Daily Mail that Harbour has ‘stepped back.’Â
Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Harbour for comment.
Harbour had been a core member of the Stranger Things cast since it first premiered on the streaming giant in 2016, playing ex police chief Jim Hopper.
The series aired its last episode on December 31 after two previous volumes premiered over Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Harbour spent the weeks leading up to the show’s season five release navigating a tricky global press tour which came after his ex-wife, Lily Allen, released her bombshell album West End Girl which seemingly charted the end of their marriage.
‘Well, some of it is based on truth and some of it is fantasy,’ she said of the album to Interview.

At the time of writing, Harbour has not addressed Allen’s album and the apparent accusations.
The pair were married for four years after meeting on dating app Raya.
Â
Speaking to Esquire Spain in September before the album was released, he reflected on his ‘pain, slip ups and mistakes’ as he reached 50.
Asked by the publication if there was anything he’d change about the last half a century Harbour said: ‘That’s such a hard question – the question of regret, or something.Â
‘I would change either everything or nothing.
‘You either accept your path completely and realise that even the pain and the slip-ups and the mistakes are all part of the journey, and that there’s truth and growth, wisdom and deeper empathy and connection in all that.
‘It’s kind of like a house of cards, the minute you try to change one thing you kind of have to change it all.’
‘We’ve been doing that for the last ten years,’ the actress added when asked why it was important she make a public show of unity with David after news of the filing emerged.

‘I mean, we have always been united in that.’Â
Harbour was notably absent from the Stranger Things premiere in London on November 13.
He also did not attend a Stranger Things event at the Paley Center in New York City on December 18 following reports of erratic behavior.
A Paley Center spokesperson said at the time that his absence was due to a ‘scheduling conflict.’
