Stacey Solomon’s Makeup Mishap Leads to Late-Night Supermarket Dash on Sort Your Life Out

Stacey Solomon’s Makeup Mishap Leads to Late-Night Supermarket Dash on Sort Your Life Out

Stacey Solomon revealed she nearly suffered a huge makeup fail on her BBC show Sort Your Life Out on Wednesday as she took to Instagram to ask for fans help.

The TV presenter, 35, travelled to Scotland with her team ready to start filming on Thursday morning, however her makeup artist Penny had her bag lost at the airport.

Stacey was forced to do a late night supermarket dash with another crew member to try and find ‘everything’ they need as they were due to start filming in the early hours.

She said: ‘Ok I need your help because you know Penny my best friend and makeup artist, she came up separately from me to Scotland and she came with like her whole makeup kit and everything and they’ve actually lost her bags which is devastating for her.

‘So she’s at the airport now trying to sort it out and find out what’s gone wrong.’

Realising Penny probably won’t have her bag returned to her immediately, Stacey rushed to the supermarket to try and put together a full makeup kit ahead of filming her show at 6am.

She continued: ‘But the likelihood is they will not find it before tomorrow when we record Sort My Life Out, so I’ve got to go to the supermarket and try and put together some kind of makeup kit for Penny to do my makeup tomorrow.

‘So me and Shannon, who works on Sort Your Life Out, are on a late night trip to the supermarket and I need to know if any of you have some good supermarket makeup suggestions.

‘And when I say suggestions I mean for everything, foundation, eyes, brows, lips, cheeks, everything, I need your help.’

Sharing a second video, a helpful Tesco’s shop assistant opened up the makeup counters for Stacey and Shannon as they attempted to put together a makeup kit ahead of their early morning filming day.

She added: ‘It wasn’t looking promising but the lovely staff opened the makeup and I took ALL of your advise! We start at 6am tomorrow so I’ll let you know how it goes. Love you all.’

Stacey’s show, which sees a team transform people’s houses by helping them declutter and creating new storage solutions, is set to make a comeback for its fifth season.

It comes after Stacey showed a different side to her usual wholesome demeanor when she furiously let rip at the BAFTA  judges in an online rant after losing out on a prize at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises.

The star’s BBC show Sort Your Life Out was nominated in the Factual Entertainment category but lost out to Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder’s programme Grand Tour.

However, while she congratulated the winners, Stacey couldn’t help but reveal how ‘gutted’ she was for her team who ‘deserved’ the award as she declared that they were ‘robbed’.

In a rare uninhibited rant, the star – who also missed out on a solo gong for Entertainment Performance – took to her Instagram Stories to share her devastation at the loss.

Dressed in a green Nike sweater and blue cycle shorts, Stacey watered her vegetable patch while expressing to her fans how she felt about the loss.

Stacey, who dazzled in her repurposed wedding dress, fumed: ‘We didn’t win a BAFTA. And I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but, I’ll be honest, I’m devastated!

Laughing at her reaction, she continued: ‘I’m not handling it very well, I’m not taking it very gracefully – I’m devastated! I’m devastated for our whole team, like I’m so gutted for our team.

‘Everyone got dressed up and was really hopeful, I think because they work so hard. It’s not an easy show to make, Sort Your Life Out and the team work so hard to make it happen and they so deserve the BAFTA.

‘The Sort Your Life Out team deserved a BAFTA and I’m devastated. I’m not saying that everyone else didn’t deserve their BAFTAs, they absolutely did.

‘People think making TV is really easy and it’s not, so everyone deserves recognition. But I’m just gutted for my whole Sort Your Life Out family because I feel like they deserved a BAFTA. I’m gonna say it – I’m gutted!’

Going on to reveal what it takes to make their show, she went on: ‘We’ll pack up a house and within seven days that house is packed up, into vans, over to a warehouse, laid out on the floor, we go through it meticulously, we make sure it doesn’t just get chucked away. We donate, we recycle, we resell things. We put it all back and try and put it in systems to help families move forward…’

She also gave a shout out to the families who give up their time and open their homes to TV audiences, especially when they run the risk of being judged.

Waving her hose in the air, a fuming Stacey concluded: ‘I’m gutted!’ before praising her whole team and noting they planned to give it their all for series six.
