Recording themselves from the hospital waiting room, the pair went into the details of what happened as they admitted multiple things went wrong including a broken boat and stormy conditions.
‘Why always me, why always us,’ laughed Jake as the clip began.
Matty then explained: ‘As you see smiles on our faces, both gutted to have withdrawn the way we have but it is what it is. We are both safe and going home to our families.
Jake continued: ‘We felt we had a great start, we were both buzzing with how quickly we went off. Then we got into a bit of trouble, then the boat broke and then we got stuck in a storm.
‘Then we set off again thinking we were on it again and then we got into more trouble.’
Matty added: ‘Great race hope everyone else finishes strong and they all stay safe’.
