Grimes SLAMS Elon Musk’s X as ‘poison’

Elon Musk’s ex Grimes ripped the billionaire entrepreneur for his impact on the social media platform X/Twitter since he purchased it in 2022.

The musical artist, 37, who shares three children with the Tesla founder, said that she had been intentionally avoiding social media because of the influence left by her former partner.

‘Ok I’ve basically been entirely off social media and returning here it is overwhelmingly, abundantly and profoundly clear that this place – and all of these places – are a poison – a prison of utterly short form deep deep-sounding nonsense attached to no one that ur brain will discard imaging its learning,’ the Canadian singer-songwriter said. 

Grimes, whose full name is Claire Elise Boucher, said that ‘the entire thing is a theatre’ and a ‘s****y pale simulacra of a life.’

The We Appreciate Power vocalist and the SpaceX CEO are parents to four-year-old son X Æ A-12 Musk; three-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl; and son Techno Mechanicus, three, who they welcomed in 2022.

The Vancouver native added Monday that she was focused on making new music.

‘I literally could not be more hyped on sub focus,’ she said. ‘Dance music has felt bizarrely sterile and increasingly so over time. 

Working on some stuff for his record and it’s literally hitting like the autistic sci fi shit in all the right places like it rly feels like cinematic, like I’m right in Neuromancer. 

The Flesh Without Blood artist added: ‘But also it’s genuinely euphoric. 

‘It has been so long since I’ve felt euphoric about dance music that I am actually distubed at how disembodied and status oriented music can become.’

Separate from Grimes, Musk is father to 11 other kids with three other women, according to People.

Musk and ex-wife Justine Wilson, 52, are parents to six kids, as their first-born child Nevada Alexander tragically died after 10 weeks in 2002 from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). 

They subsequently welcomed twins Vivian Jenna and Griffin, now 21, in April 2004 and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, now 19, in January 2006.

Musk and Neuralink businesswoman Shivon Zilis, 39, are parents to four kids, welcoming twins in November 2021, daughter Arcadia in June of 2024 and Seldon Lycurgus earlier this year.  

Zillis said earlier this year: ‘Discussed with Elon, we felt it was better to share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. 

‘Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much.’

Grimes and Zilis publicly spoke about their cordial-yet-complicated relationship co-parenting with Musk in September of 2023.

‘I spoke with Shivon at length finally, which was long overdue,’ Grimes said in a tweet. ‘This wasn’t her fault, plz don’t be angry at her! We respect each other a lot and we’re excited to become friends and have the kids grow up together.

‘Women are so often pitted against each other. Speaking with Shivon, it’s very evident she’s an amazing human and we both just want what’s best for our kids.’

Zilis replied, ‘At the end of the day it all ended up for the best! Thank you for taking the time to really connect and understand each other. 

‘So glad we had such a wonderful talk, was insanely overdue. You’re a total bada** and I respect you very much as well.’

Musk has also been in high-profile relationships with actresses Talulah Riley, 39, and Amber Heard, 39. 

Musk last year told The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council that he doesn’t have a firm succession plan in place with an eye toward the future of his empires.

‘I am definitely not of the school of automatically giving my kids some shares of the companies,’ he said, ‘even if they have no interest or inclination or ability to manage the company. I think that’s a mistake.’
