An Aussie actress and her Oscar nominated husband have snapped up a multimillion dollar home on Sydney’s North Shore.

Belinda Bromilow and writer husband Tony McNamara recently purchased the stunning Palm Springs-inspired property in Middle Cove for $11.2million, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The stunning Palm Springs-inspired home was built in 1959, and designed by architect Glynn Nicholls.

Sitting on 1,252 square metres of waterfront reserve, the striking property offers rare views of Sugarloaf Bay.

The modernist home has been meticulously renovated and is wrapped in glass to maximise the idyllic views.

Making the most of natural light, the house features five bedrooms, with one being a second main bedroom or private guest retreat with ensuite.

There is also has a separate cabana with ensuite, storage and a Murphy bed.

It features an expansive dining and living area with a hanging fireplace as well as a dropdown television in the living room.

Built-in bookshelves also open to reveal a climate-controlled cellar and tasting room.

The house sits amid landscaped, native gardens and also has a fully heated, Italian-tiled pool and gas spa.

The publication reported that the property was sold by advertising executive Stuart Archibald, who purchased it from former Facebook chief executive Paul Borrund in 2020.

The sale set a record at the time, with the property changing has for $7.25million – $3million above the previous title holder.

The property next door now holds the record after selling for $11.5million in 2021.

The publication also reported that the couple also own an estate in Bowral in the NSW Southern Highlands, which they purchased in 2017 for 1.775million.

Belinda will also be known to Australian audiences for her role as Betty Bell in the Channel Nine drama series Doctor, Doctor, also created by her husband. 

She will next be seen starring alongside the likes of Olivia Coleman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Allison Janney in the dark comedy The Roses, again co-written by her prolific husband.

Tony, meanwhile boasts quite an impressive resume, picking up a swag of awards, including a BAFTA for best original screenplay for the 2018 hit The Favourite.

Co written with Deborah Davis, Tony was also nominated for a best original screenplay Academy Award –  one of ten the film was nominated for that year.

Tony was also nominated for a best original screenplay Oscar in 2024 for the Emma Stone film Poor Things.

According to Screen Rant, Tony is also currently co-writing an upcoming Star Wars film with Taika Waititi,
