Georgia Harrison reveals Prince William burst out laughing when she ‘almost hit the deck’ with her ‘theatrical curtsy’ when she received her MBE while heavily pregnant

Georgia Harrison has revealed Prince William burst out laughing when she did a very ‘over-the top’ curtsy while receiving her MBE.

The former Love Island star, 31, made history as the first contestant from the hit ITV reality dating show to be given the honour for her services to tackling online privacy and cyber crime awareness.

Georgia was heavily pregnant with her daughter Sahara at the time which she said added to the ‘theatrical’ nature of her curtsy.

Speaking to Hello!, she said: ‘I ended up doing an over-the-top theatrical curtsy, and almost hit the deck.

‘I was this huge pregnant person in heels, arms spread-eagled and trying not to topple over. William cracked up and my family couldn’t believe it.’

The star also joked she wished she had went into labour while receiving the MBE.

‘I was just trying not to give birth at Windsor Castle,’ she said. ‘Although part of me sort of wanted to, just for the drama of it – and maybe the Insta content!’

Georgia and her partner Jack Stacey welcomed their daughter Sahara Jean in October, not long after she received the honour.

Georgia sued her ex-boyfriend Stephen Bear for misuse of private information after he shared a video of their sexual encounter without her consent.

Bear was jailed for 21 months in 2023 after uploading footage of himself and Georgia to OnlyFans.

After he was jailed, Georgia waived her right to anonymity to show other victims she stood in ‘solidarity’ with them.

Georgia then kicked off a campaign partnered with Thames Valley Police (TVP) to ‘start conversations’ about consent, which she has now been recognised for.

The campaigner, from Loughton, was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire by the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

Over the past couple of years, Georgia turned her hand to campaigning on violence against women and girls after becoming a victim of revenge porn.

She said: 'I was this huge pregnant person in heels, arms spread-eagled and trying not to topple over. William cracked up and my family couldn't believe it;'

Georgia was recognised in the King’s honours list for her powerful campaigning.

Bear – famed for his appearances on TV show Ex on the Beach – was sentenced after a jury found him guilty of voyeurism and disclosing private, sexual photographs and films after he leaked a sex tape of Georgia.

After hearing the news that her campaigning efforts were officially recognised by King Charles, Georgia took to social media to thank her fans and supporters.

She said she was ‘so grateful’ for the recognition after sharing her painful journey publicly.

The TV star penned: ‘I am beyond honoured to be listed to receive an MBE!!

‘I’m so grateful to anyone who has reached out to congratulate me and also to all of you who have shared and continue to share your stories with me along the way.

‘I am continuously reading them all, taking on board your experiences and using them as both fuel and knowledge for my campaigning.’

She added: ‘My experience changed me in many ways but one of those ways was that I became a voice for the women that can’t be heard.’

Promising to always help others wherever she can, Georgia finished her post saying: ‘I always promise to rise to the opportunities that seek my help within regulating the digital space and do my best to make change where possible ❤️’.
