Millie Bobby Brown was notably absent from a cast screening of Stranger Things’ final episode in New York City last week as she continues to recover from an injury.
The 21-year-old actress did not attend the gathering at the Paris Theater on Friday, where her costars reunited to watch the final installment together.Â
A source revealed to People that Brown, who adopted her first child, a baby girl, this summer with her husband Jake Bongiovi, was ‘still home’ healing from a dislocated shoulder.
Earlier this month, Brown publicly disclosed the injury after missing an appearance on Good Morning America, explaining that she had suffered a fall.Â
Despite being unable to attend the cast screening in person, the insider said Brown ‘got a link to watch it at the same time’ as her fellow actors.
Brown first addressed the injury after skipping a scheduled in-studio appearance on Good Morning America on December 15.Â

In a prerecorded video message shared with viewers, she appeared with her arm in a black sling and apologized for her absence.
‘To everyone at GMA, I’m really sorry I couldn’t be there with you guys. I took a fall,’ she said in the clip.
The actress also missed a separate event at the Paley Museum in New York City three days later. At the time, a spokesperson for the venue confirmed to People that her absence was due to a ‘recent injury.’
Brown had been slated to appear on GMA alongside costar Noah Schnapp to promote the upcoming finale of the hit Netflix series.Â
During Schnapp’s appearance, GMA co-host Lara Spencer, 56, informed viewers that Brown had suffered a ‘spill.’
Although she was unable to join the interview live, Brown still made a brief appearance via video and asked Schnapp to answer a festive question on her behalf.
‘I wanted to still participate in any way I could because you know we, I have to make it about me,’ she joked.
Turning to Schnapp, she continued: ‘Now, I’m very excited to ask you this question, I don’t think I know the answer considering of your best friend, but what’s your favorite family tradition to do with the holidays or favorite memory during the holiday season?’

Schnapp replied that he enjoys playing the game fishbowl with his family, adding, ‘It can get a little crazy.’
Brown has not shared additional details about the nature of her fall or how long her recovery is expected to take.
The duo, who portray Eleven and Will Byers on Stranger Things, are preparing for the release of season five volume two, which premieres December 25 and consists of three episodes.Â
The series finale, titled The Rightside Up, is set to debut on December 31.
‘I’m nervous to watch it,’ Schnapp admitted during his GMA appearance. ‘Once you watch that, it’s done.’
‘That’s the last episode we’re going to watch together and it’s so emotional,’ he continued. ‘Reading it, I can’t fathom what it’s going to be like to watch. We’re going to sit together as a group and watch it one last time and will probably sobbing the rest of the day and month.’

Last month, Brown revealed her current relationship with David Harbour, after filing a bombshell bullying claim against him.
The actress and her co-star were the talk of the town at the LA premiere on November 6, as they put on an ‘OTT comedy double act for the cameras’ just days after it was reported that she had filed a harassment and bullying claim.Â
A week later David was notably absent from the London premiere.
In a new interview Brown insisted the co-stars are on good terms, and are prioritizing their show, which started streaming its final season last month.
‘We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything,’ Millie told the Hollywood Reporter.
‘We’ve been doing that for the last ten years,’ the actress added when asked why it was important she make a public show of unity with David after news of the filing emerged. ‘I mean, we have always been united in that.’

The Daily Mail exclusively reported last month that the British actress filed ‘pages and pages of accusations’ against Harbour before filming began on the sci-fi series’ final season.
The complaints did not include any allegations of sexual impropriety and so far, the outcome of the investigation is unknown.
Harbour has been a core member of the Stranger Things cast since it first aired in 2016.
Starring in the role of Jim Hopper, often referred to as Sheriff Hopper, he’s one of the series’ most beloved personalities, loved for his complex character arc.
In the series, Hopper adopts Brown’s supernaturally gifted character Eleven, after she escapes from a secretive government facility that conducted experiments on her as a child.
The fifth and final season sees the two characters reunited after they spent much of the penultimate series apart.
