Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne has announced his wife is pregnant with the couple’s second child as he revealed they are expecting a daughter in March.
The actor, who already shares one child with his wife Celina Bassili, also shared the sweet name tribute to his late mother.
Revealing the news on Gyles Brandreth’s Rosebud podcast, Mathew revealed that his daughter will share the same middle name as his late mother.Â
‘Joy was my mother’s middle name, and it will be the middle name of my daughter, who is due in March.
Gyles went on to point out out the baby’s future star sign as he explained: ‘She’s going to be a Piscean, you win every prize in life. You’re so lucky,’ as Mathew replied, ‘I know that.’
Mathew and Celina welcomed their first child, a son, together shortly after their wedding in September 2021 – but kept their happy news a secret until three years later in 2024.Â

A source told The Sun: ‘Mathew is a brilliant dad and he and Celina love being parents.
‘Celina’s brother has a son who is a similar age and they loved spending time together.
‘Mathew also kept the news quiet because he prefers to live his life out of the spotlight, even though he’s a household name thanks to Gavin & Stacey.
‘All his Gavin & Stacey co-stars know about him being a dad, including James Corden and Joanna Page.
‘They all have kids so you can imagine the talk on set for the Christmas special is going to centre a lot on their kids.’
