Love Island’s Megan Moore shares cryptic post about ‘deserving better’ after her split from Dejon Noel-Williams

Love Island’s Megan Moore shared a cryptic post about ‘deserving better’ on Sunday night after her split from Dejon Noel-Williams earlier this month.

The influencer, 26, and the athlete, 27, were thought to have gone their separate ways at the start of December after a series of rows while on holiday.

And just days before Christmas Dejon confirmed the separation on his Instagram Story.

In the wake of the breakup Megan took to her social media to share a cryptic quote that read: ‘Normalize saying ”I deserve better” because you absolutely do.

‘Repeat it like a mantra, and let it sink deep within you. Don’t let fear or doubt hold you back from claiming the love, respect and happiness you deserve.

‘You’re worthy of more. Never settle for less.’

Just days before Christmas, Dejon reaffirmed that their romance is over, writing on Instagram that it is with ‘great sadness’ he announces their breakup.

The star, who faced heavy trolling after leaving the villa, added: ‘Navigating a relationship after the intensity of the villa has brought incredible memories, but also difficulties especially being in the public eye, trying to balance work as a personal trainer, and setting up a new business along the way.’

Megan echoed Dejon’s statement, saying she was ‘truly gutted’ to confirm the end of their relationship and thanking fans for supporting her Love Island journey.

The pair first met during the summer series and were the only Islanders to stay together from the start of the show until they were dumped just days before the TV final.

Dejon said: ‘It is with great sadness that I have parted ways with Meg after almost seven months together.

‘Navigating a relationship after the intensity of the villa has had incredible memories, but it also came with difficulties, especially being in the public eye, trying to incorporate work as a personal trainer and setting up a new business along the way.

‘I wish things could have been different, and the next period of adjustment will be hard for us both, but I wish Meg nothing but the best for the future.’

Meanwhile, Meg wrote: ‘It saddens me that I’ve had to write this unexpectedly but I always want to be honest with everyone that’s supported and followed me along my journey in finding love.

‘I am truly gutted that mine and Dejon’s relationship has come to an end. I’m so grateful for all the good times we shared and I want to thank you all for the support and love you gave to me and us throughout our relationship.

‘All I ask of now is please respect my privacy and have a little patience and understanding as I try to navigate this turn.’

Dejon and Megan proved their former co-stars wrong by lasting seven months together after being voted out of the villa just a day before the final.

The dumped Islanders returned to the show to cast the deciding vote on who would reach the end of the series and claim the £50,000 prize, with Dejon and Megan ultimately becoming the unlucky couple to miss out.

Their former co-stars voted against the couple after viewers branded Dejon a ‘narcissist’ for his behaviour on the show.

The former semi-professional footballer, now working as a personal trainer, was the only Love Island contestant from the summer series to break the fourth wall, commenting on the cameras and how his relationship with Megan was being perceived by the outside world.

In his first interview after leaving the villa, Dejon admitted he does have empathy, but said he felt ‘lost’ and ‘confused’ while in the villa, finding it particularly difficult to be vulnerable on national television.

Following a wave of trolling and thousands of hateful messages online, including death threats, he revealed he had to turn off comments on his profile.

Since leaving the show, Dejon has focused on launching a new fitness business, Vibe Tribe Run Club, which brings members together for weekly runs in central London.

Megan supported Dejon in the venture, even completing her first 5K by taking part in the project.
