Snarky Rumors on Dina Broadhurst’s Real Home After Apartment Sale

At long last, eastern suburbs exes Dina Broadhurst and Max Shepherd have finally offloaded the Darling Point apartment they’d been trying to sell since last November.

As exclusively revealed by society scribe Lucy Manly, the former couple, who dated from 2018 to 2023 and share a 15-year age gap, found a buyer for their renovated three-bedroom unit just before it was scheduled to go to auction on Thursday.

It sold for ‘around’ its $8.4million guide, according to Highland Double Bay director David Malouf who handled the seven-month campaign.

Dina and Max – friendly exes, by all accounts – bought the harbourside unit for $5.2million in 2022 and transformed it into a breezy, modern paradise complete with a home studio.

They initially couldn’t find a buyer at $11.5million, so the listing was pulled in January, with Dina telling us she’d had second thoughts about letting the unit go.

But sentiment only stretches so far.

The apartment – described in its listing as having ‘house-like proportions’ – was rescheduled with a more realistic guide and eventually found a buyer, whose identity remains unknown.

Last week, during the final days of the campaign, our eastern suburbs spies alerted us to a rather interesting bit of gossip…

The apartment may have been vacant and prepped for the auction – which ended up moving from the property itself to Highland Double Bay’s offices at the eleventh hour – but that didn’t stop Dina from returning there regularly to take spicy selfies.

Despite renting somewhere else nearby, the 48-year-old socialite clearly found the Etham Avenue address to be a more suitable backdrop for her tasteful nudes.

Several recent shots on her Instagram page, which has 367,000 followers, were clearly taken at the unit she and Max renovated but never ‘fully moved into’.

They included suggestive photos of her in various states of undress, as well as pictures of her acclaimed mixed-media collage artworks.

Perhaps she felt an empty unit that resembled a display home was more aesthetic than her bachelorette pad (which still seems very nice, by the way).

As recently as Tuesday she posted a gallery of snaps captioned ‘art at home’ that appeared to include photos taken both at her rental and the luxury unit that was mere days away from going under the hammer.

Whatever her reasons for doing so, we hear society types were scrolling through her Instagram galleries in the lead-up to the auction, pointing out which snaps were taken at Dina’s ‘real home’ and which were from the ‘show home’.

Generally they aren’t difficult to tell apart. The blue-chip flat in Darling Point has a clean, white aesthetic, whereas Dina’s own place has splashes of colour.

Her current residence also has pale green bifold doors which open to a small courtyard, whereas the apartment that was just sold is easily identifiable by its stunning views of nearby Double Bay.

It’s worth clarifying here that what Dina was doing was hardly break-and-enter.

She did own the home until it found a buyer on Thursday. Indeed, in January she told us she was ‘considering retaining the property for myself’ so it’s hardly surprising she was spending time there.

It comes months after Dina and Max reunited in Sydney in December to discuss the logistics of offloading their unit… only for that trip to cause a little brouhaha.

In between meetings with realtors and valuers, the exes ducked off to Kutti Beach for a sunbathing session during which Dina went topless in front of her former flame.

The eyebrow-raising moment was captured by a nearby paparazzi photographer.

Dina purchased the home with her then-partner Max Shepherd in 2022 for $5.2million. They broke up during the renovation process and it’s believed they never lived in it as a couple

At the time, Max was in a relationship with American actress and mother-of-two Vail Bloom, with whom he had gone ‘Instagram official’ in November 2023.

But the publication of our photos caused a break in trust and the two split in February.

Shortly before her beachside reunion with Max, Dina had split from millionaire refrigerator heir John Winning Jr. after being together for about eight months.

She was most recently linked to 23-year-old Belgian toyboy Kengi Meert.
