Jamie Lynn Spears just gifted her daughter Maddie an ATV, nearly nine years after she suffered a near-fatal accident while driving one.
On Thursday the 34-year-old actress posted a carousel from her family’s Christmas celebration, and included snapshots of the new red motor vehicle she purchased for her 17-year-old.
Maddie famously flipped an ATV and nearly drowned in their Louisiana pond while driving it when she was just eight-years-old in 2017.
Now the high school senior is making light of the gift gaffe.Â
She commented under her mother’s post, ‘Wow you did me so dirty,’ collecting 60 likes.
And Spears played along, responding, ‘I can’t win here.’

Following the horrific accident, which took place in February 2017, Maddie was airlifted to Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
The youngster spent five days recovering from her injuries, and eventually made a full recovery.
TMZ later revealed the manufacturers of the Polaris RZR 170 restricted anyone under age 10 from operating the vehicle, meaning it was illegal for Spears to have gifted the vehicle to her daughter at the time.Â
Over the summer Maddie opened up about the life-altering ordeal.
Using her YouTube platform in August, the high school senior said in a video, ‘I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and I’m very blessed.’
She went on to describe herself as ‘very accident-prone,’ and added, ‘I swear my parents are amazing and they did not do anything to me!’
In February 2024, Spears posted photos online as she marked the seventh anniversary of her daughter’s accident.Â
Sharing Instagram images of Maddie in the hospital, she reflected on the harrowing experience.
‘Today is our #MIRACLEANNIVERSARY. Every year that passes and I watch my daughter grow up, the more I realize how very blessed we are, and never want to take that for granted,’ she typed.
She added, ‘Again, thank you to all the healthcare professionals who made the life saving decisions, and thank you to each and every person who prayed for our baby girl.’
Naming the priest who read Maddie her last rites, she continued: ‘Thinking of Father Mark today, although he is in heaven now, he was always like an angel on earth for us, especially on this day 7 years ago.’

Spears welcomed the teen, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Casey Aldridge, in June 2008.
In addition to Maddie, she also shares seven-year-old daughter Ivey with husband Jamie Watson.
Maddie has eschewed her biological father’s last name in favor of her stepfather’s surname.Â
Spears enjoyed this year’s Christmas holiday with her husband, daughters, mom Lynn Spears, and her sister Britney Spears’ son Sean, 19.
She wore a red and navy plaid-print mini dress with a v-shaped black collar, adding coordinating black heels.
And the proud mom shared a photo of her daughters surrounded by their Christmas gifts.
She captioned, ‘Merry CHRISTMAS,’ adding a row of festive seasonal emojis.Â
Maddie shared photos from the celebration with her 27,000 Instagram as well, writing, ‘Tis the season.’
