Chrissie Swan has opened up about her childhood, revealing a devastating truth behind her weight struggles as a kid.
The media personality, 51, appeared on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, where the hosts discussed Turkey’s new introduction of randomised public weigh-ins in order to decrease obesity.
The policy will allow health officers to stop locals at random and weigh them in public places such as trains, busses and events.
Chrissie was horrified by the latest legislation and dubbed it ‘fresh hell’ before revealing her own trauma.
‘This is coming from someone whose first public weighing was at 10 years old at a Weight Watchers meeting,’ she candidly shared.

The TV host took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a series of images that were taken 20 years ago, back in 2005.
The photos showed Chrissie, then 31-years-old, just two years after her runner-up turn on season three of Big Brother.
One image showed a much fuller-faced Chrissie, smiling as she posed in the passenger seat of a car.
The other, taken around the same time, showed Chrissie posing with ‘bestie’ Rebecca Thompson.

She has drastically transformed her physique, citing a new diet, daily walks and sobriety as the secret behind her slimdown.
After dropping a reported 90kg since the start of lockdowns, she briefly touched on her weight loss in an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly in 2022.
She said the ‘enormous’ lifestyle changes she’d made over the previous 12 months had improved her life in so many ways.
‘I’m not going to talk about the size of my a***,’ she said.
‘I’m not going to tell you what I eat in a day. Because I’ve read those stories and they make me feel bad about myself.’
However, she did confirm Melbourne’s lengthy Covid lockdown was the catalyst for her health and fitness kick.
‘We couldn’t go out to dinner, we couldn’t go to a friend’s house, they couldn’t come to us, we couldn’t go outside five kilometres,’ she said.
‘All we could do was walk, and so that’s what I did.’
