Alec and Hilaria Baldwin welcome new family member for Christmas amid hints of Spain move

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin marked Christmas by welcoming a new family member, adding a dose of holiday cheer to their already bustling household.

The couple revealed they had adopted a puppy named Laila, sharing sweet photos of the newest arrival alongside their seven children – Carmen, María, Ilaria, Rafael, Leo, Romeo, and Eduardo ‘Edu’ – gathered around the tree.

In one snap, Hilaria, 41, cradled the fluffy pup while sitting beside Alec, 67, as the family posed for the festive moment.

In another image, the Dancing with the Stars alum held up the puppy, who sported a black-and-red checkered bow collar, while her children took turns cuddling the newest addition.

‘Merry Christmas y Feliz Navidad!” Hilaria wrote alongside the post. ‘We send you so much love.’

The heartwarming reveal comes just days after Hilaria hinted that the family may be considering a move to Spain, five years after she faced scrutiny over her shifting accent.

Born Hillary Hayward-Thomas in Boston, Hilaria Baldwin has long been a lightning rod for controversy, particularly after she was accused in 2020 of misrepresenting her Spanish heritage.

Scrutiny intensified over her fluctuating accent, though she has maintained that she grew up speaking Spanish and spent significant time in Mallorca, where her parents have lived since 2011.

Now, she’s opening up about the possibility of another major life change – relocating her family altogether.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, Hilaria revealed that she and husband Alec are open to moving, explaining, ‘we need a change,’ before adding, ‘my whole family lives in Spain, so I feel like that’s a possibility.’

While the couple currently split their time between New York City and their sprawling Hamptons estate, Hilaria admitted the logistics of raising seven children in the city have become increasingly challenging.

‘I can live in a lot of different places,’ she said. ‘But I do think that our kids, like, they want to have their own rooms. That’s harder in New York.’

She added that the desire for a fresh start has been growing. ‘We have so many kids, and so I feel like we need an adventure. I don’t know where we’re gonna go, but we need an adventure.’

Alec Baldwin has also spoken candidly about how his children became his emotional lifeline during one of the darkest periods of his life.

‘I’m 67 years old, I got a 3-year-old baby, so I got a lot of kids at home,’ he said, explaining how fatherhood gave him purpose during that stretch. ‘And they saved my life.’

Baldwin went on to describe how the experience shifted his perspective, saying, ‘You get to the point where you think less about where you get love than where you give love.

‘One of the more frustrating and even painful things in life is [when] you have nobody to give your love to.’

With seven children filling the house, he said that emptiness was never an issue.

‘I have a lot of love to give, and I have all these kids around me all day long and I’m not really … doing very much for the last three and a half years,’ he explained.

‘I was home all the time, and they saved me. They saved my life.’
