Ariana Grande was almost left speechless after Barbra Streisand sent her gushing praise in the music legend’s latest social media post.
The EGOT-winning icon, 83, took to Instagram on Tuesday to post a photo of her and Grande posing together before they performed a duet back in August 2019.
Streisand had penned a sweet caption alongside the snapshot of the two vocal powerhouses during what appeared to be their pre-performance rehearsal over six years ago.
She gushed over Grande’s ‘amazing talent’ and sent a ‘big hug’ to her following her Saturday Night Live hosting gig as she made her fifth appearance on the sketch comedy show and showed off her famously uncanny imitations of other singers.
After Streisand shared a throwback photo with the Wicked star, Grande, 32, was quick to share her response, albeit with one word initially, in her comment.
‘WHAT,’ she wrote in a comment before following up with another message thanking Streisand for the ‘kindest surprise.’
She also gushed about how she ‘loves’ and ‘misses’ her in a second note left in the comments section of Streisand’s post.

In Streisand’s initial post, she commended Grande for her ‘beautiful voice’ and raved about working with her in the past.
‘Ariana is a young woman with an amazing talent. She has a beautiful voice like no one else, and so much more,’ she wrote.
‘She can act, she can dance, she can be funny! She’s also sweet, kind and thoughtful. I’m very proud of you Ariana and thanks for singing with me on my album…’
Streisand concluded her post, signing off with a ‘big hug’ and writing: ‘P.S. you were wonderful on Saturday Night Live and looked so pretty @arianagrande!’
The former Nickelodeon star also responded with high praise for the music icon.
‘Barbra !!!!!!!! what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my goodness, thank you so much for this kindest surprise today,’ Grande wrote alongside teary-eyed emojis. ‘you made my day, my year, my life!’
She added: ‘this means so much, coming from you. i just love you so. i miss you and i hope i get to hug you soon… all my love and appreciation. thank you.’
They previously collaborated when Grande was a surprise guest during Streisand’s August 2019 concert in Chicago.
Grande, who hosted Saturday Night Live just a few days earlier with Cher as the musical guest, reacted with shock and equal praise for Streisand

They previously collaborated when Grande was a surprise guest during Streisand’s August 2019 concert in Chicago. At the time, she joined Streisand onstage to perform a duet of the latter’s hit song with Donna Summer titled No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)
Earlier this year, Streisand also released a collaborative track with Grande and Mariah Carey when they joined her on the song One Heart, One Voice; Carey and Grande pictured on the record cover for the Queen of Christmas’s feature on Grande’s Yes And? remix

Other major musicians that sang with Streisand for her album of duets, which came out in June earlier this year, include Sting, James Taylor, Sam Smith, Josh Groban, Tim McGraw and Seal.
Also earlier this year, Grande joined the all-star cast in John Hamburg’s untitled fourth Meet the Parents movie — after wrapping both Wicked: Part One and Wicked: For Good.
However, Streisand — who starred in the 2004 sequel Meet the Fockers — was not among the original cast members who signed on to reprise their roles.
Grande will be starring alongside Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, and Owen Wilson in the Universal Pictures comedy.
Streisand played the eccentric matriarch Rozalin Focker in the second of the film series but previously said she had no plans to return.

‘They’d have to pay me a lot of money,’ she told Variety in June, one month after news of Grande’s addition was revealed.
‘I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid and so I’m pissed off.’
It was over two decades ago, she explained, adding: ‘I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men. The head of Universal was Ron Meyer at the time, and he actually sent me a bonus check. It was very sweet.’
For Little Fockers, Stiller and De Niro reportedly each took home $20 million, sources told Page Six in 2011.
Wilson was paid $15 million and Dustin Hoffman received $7.5 million, per the outlet, while Streisand made only $7 million, considerably less in comparison.
Grande will be playing Henry Focker’s big-personality fiancée in the forthcoming, fourth installment of the beloved movie series, which is set to premiere on November 25, 2026.
