ACTOR Helen Siff known for roles in Modern Family and Will & Grace has tragically died aged 88.
The star passed away on Thursday in Los Angeles due to complications following a surgery for a “long, painful illness,” her family announced in a statement.
“Those who worked with Helen knew her not just as a talented performer, but as someone who brought professionalism, dedication and genuine kindness to every set,” they told The Hollywood Reporter.
They added: “She understood that every role, no matter how large or small, was an opportunity to contribute something meaningful to the story being told.
“She had the rare gift of making even the smallest part memorable.”
A veteran character actor, Siff’s career spanned five decades including over 70 screen credits.
Siff made her television debut with a guest appearance on Lou Grant, the Mary Tyler Moore Show spinoff.
The show launched her into a steady run of character roles across series including Cagney & Lacey, Silver Spoons, L.A. Law, Highway to Heaven, Knots Landing, Dragnet, Ellen, Married With Children, Will & Grace, and Modern Family.
