Cops swooped on the scene of the Reiners’ $13.5 million Brentwood home at around 3:40pm on Sunday, but it has since emerged that the couple had been dead for several hours.

Rigor mortis, where the joints and muscles stiffen, had already begun, as reported by TMZ.

This process can start within two to six hours after death.

Sources described the scene as something that resembled a nightmare, according to the outlet.

Nick was with his parents the evening before their deaths.

They were at a festive holiday party hosted by Conan O’Brien.

Reiner, the director behind When Harry Met Sally, and Michele reportedly asked if they could bring Nick to the shindig so they could keep an eye on him.

But, the 32-year-old showed signings of “antisocial behavior,” as reported by the Rolling Stone.

This included staring at other people at the bash.

Reiner and Nick were reportedly involved in a bust-up and the director’s son also clashed with the actor Bill Hader, as reported by Page Six.

Nick reportedly interrupted a conversation Hader was having with another guest.

Hader warned Nick that he was having a private chat.

Nick then just stared at former Saturday Night Live star Hader before storming off.

Reiner, who was also behind films such as The Princess Bride and Stand By Me, also expressed concerns about his son’s well-being.
