FURIOUS Rod Stewart brought his gig to a standstill and yelled at a fan who he accused of “spoiling” the show.
The legendary singer, 80, was dressed in a suit and clutching a football as his backing band played the music to Do Ya Think I’m Sexy? inside the OAKA Sports Hall, Athens, Greece.
He could be seen gesticulating at the front of the stage, before saying into the mic: “Out the f***ing way. You’re spoiling the show for everybody. Out the way. Leave. We don’t need you here!
“All she’s doing is putting up a sign. It’s not hurting you is it, mate?”
Turning to the band and regaining his composure, Rod said: “OK, from the top, where we left off.”
Users on TikTok speculated his fragile temper might have been due to his beloved Celtic getting beat 3-1 by St Mirren in the Scottish Premier League.
The loss leaves them six points off the top spot with two games in hand.
Fans at the show got their money‘s worth, with Rod performing 25 tracks including classics Young Turks, You Wear It Well and Hot Legs.
His next show, and his last until February, takes place on Wednesday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
It’s been a year of ups and downs for Rod.
He performed a triumphant Legends slot set at Glastonbury Festival in June, but was forced to cancel a series of other shows due to health issues.
Rod pulled six shows leading up to the event as he battled to beat flu and be fighting fit.
He bounced back in true rock ‘n’ roll fashion, roping in heavyweights Lulu, Mick Hucknall and Ronnie Wood to help him wow the huge Worthy Farm crowd.
The footy-mad fan also had lots to celebrate away from music when Scotland qualified for their first Fifa World Cup in 28 years.
But the prices of tickets at the Stateside tournament next year made even multimillionaire Rod wince.
He said: “I find it hard that tickets are going to be selling for £2,000.
“I can’t even afford it.”
Some tickets for the final are already going for a staggering £33,000.
Elsewhere, he’s been his wife Penny Lancaster’s biggest supporter after she published a tell-all book that included lots of personal anecdotes.
Ahead of its release, he said by her side: “Wow this is incredible Penny.
“Absolutely blood curdling information in here.”
The father-of-eight then ramped up the silly humour saying, “Oh my God I can’t read it,” before throwing the hardback up in the air and catching it, prompting squeals of laughter from his wife.
He then added, in a more serious tone: “No It’s just the best, I’m so proud of her.”
