Nellie Cook is the youngest daughter of broadcaster Zoe Ball and DJ Fatboy Slim, whose real name is Norman Cook.

Zoe is best known for having previously headed up the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show and Strictly spin-off It Takes Two from 2011 to 2021.

Meanwhile, dad Norman blew up in the late 90s and early 2000s and made a name for himself in electronic music by mixing house, breakbeat, rock, and hip hop.

Under his DJ name Fatboy Slim, he is best known for dance hits Rockafeller Skank and Right Here, Right Now, plus the number one songs Praise You and Brimful of Asha (Norman Cook remix).

The 15-year-old is following in her father’s footsteps in the music world and even gives a cheeky nod to him via her stage name Fatgirl Slim.

Nellie released her world debut as a DJ back in 2020 and has gone on to play alongside her dad at gigs such as Camp Bestival.

The teen was seen hanging out backstage at a gig with her dad and former Love Island star Lucinda Strafford.

The trio were shown on Lucinda’s TikTok, joining in on a popular trend from the app.

Over a clip of her getting up from a chair and shrugging her shoulders, Lucinda wrote: “Are you having a big one tonight?”

Fatboy Slim does the same alongside the words: “Are you fat boy slim?”

Nellie then repeats the gesture as the text reads: “Are you fat boy slim’s daughter?”

Jason Derulo’s Whatcha Say played as the background audio with Lucinda simply captioning the post: “of course we are.”

Fans took to the comments section gushing over the post with fellow Love Islander Jake Cornish penning: “Class (crying face emoji) Norman the hero.”

Norman was married to TV presenter Zoe Ball in 1999 and they had two kids before they separated in 2016.

Nellie’s older brother, Woody Cook, 24, has made a splash in the UK, also as a DJ, carving out his own path in the music world.

Like his famous dad, he has performed at Glastonbury festival, appearing twice over the past two years.

But according to Norman, his lad kept his passion for the decks a secret over fears he’d be labelled a nepo-baby.

Of Woody, Norman previously said: “All the while that Woody lived with me, he was always into music — and then he got into clubbing quite seriously.

“I used to say to him, ‘Do you want to be a DJ?’. He’s like, ‘Well, I thought about it. The thing is, I’d always be living in your shadow. I’d always be your son’.

“He went to university in Bristol, phoned me up two weeks later and went, ‘Dad, I’ve started DJing’.

“All those years I could have mentioned him. But he couldn’t do it when he was living with me. He wanted to do it on his own.

“I think both of us are very scared of the nepotism.”
