Tommy Lee slammed the shockingly high cost of cigarettes in Australia in a blistering Instagram post on Sunday.

The Mötley Crüe drummer, 61, who is currently touring the country, couldn’t believe how much a packet of Marlboro Gold 25s from 7-Eleven cost in comparison to the rest of the world, and slammed the country’s huge tobacco taxes.

Tommy was left outraged when he was forced the shell out a hefty $251.96 for four packets of cigarettes and shared the mind-blowing receipt on Instagram.

‘$251.96 for 4 packs of smokes here in Melbourne,’ he wrote alongside two flipping the bird emojis.

He then took aim at 7-Eleven’s ‘Wonderfully Easier’ tagline, instead writing: ‘7/11 wonderfully cheesier!’

Tommy paid $62.99 per pack, which is expensive even by Australian standards where the average packet costs $40.

According to website Statista, a packet of Marlboro 20s costs about $9 in the United States (roughly AUD$15).

The Australian government’s tobacco taxes are among the highest in the world, as it looks to stomp out smoking completely.

The government aims to reduce daily smokers to below 10 per cent of the population by 2025 in the short-term.

The target is to be below five per cent by 2030.

A number of Tommy’s fans didn’t understand the enormous cost.

‘Whoa,’ one fan wrote in disbelief. ‘

Jeeez’ yet another added. ‘Yikes,’ another wrote.

Tommy sat down with Bill Maher on the Club Random podcast in October, where he discussed his previous alcohol consumption.

‘Alcohol’s such a f*****g weird one, because… f**k! It’s just — it’s easy to fall in love with the way it makes you feel, the way it makes you relax, and then all of a sudden you’re, like, ‘F**k! I’m drinking two gallons of vodka a day?’ This is not… You’re trying to kill yourself now.’

When Maher expressed his disbelief at the amount of alcohol, Tommy replied: ‘Yeah. Two gallons of s**t. I swear to you — dude, I swear to God.’

Luckily, he said he avoided any damage from the long-term heavy drinking, and recently got a clean bill of health from a doctor.

‘I can’t believe… I pinch myself on a daily basis,’ the drummer said.

‘I just did the full body scan, where they do, head to toe everything, and I can’t believe — smoking, drinking, all the f*****g dumb s**t, or the fun s**t that I’ve done.’

‘Dude, the doctor was, like, ‘You’re good.”
