Abbie Chatfield has announced that she’s a big fan of the natural look.
In a video shared to Instagram this week, the podcaster posed in a skimpy blue bikini as she revealed to her fans that she was no longer shaving her pubic hair.
In a sponsored post for the razor brand, Billie, the 30-year-old explained that she was growing out her ‘koala ears’ – referring to the pubic hair on her bikini line.
‘Despite the fact that we are in the glory days of the Bush renaissance, 36 per cent of women have felt judged for having visible body hair,’ Abbie said.
‘For just not doing something, but choosing to opt out of a beauty standard. So I’m going to do my own little form of activism, okay?
‘I’m gonna try and grow out my koala ears.’

Abbie explained that ‘koala ears’ refers to her bikini line as she gestured at her crotch.
‘It’s protruding bush, essentially, okay. Beautiful koala ears,’ she said, while pointing to the area she meant.
Abbie further explained in her Instagram caption: ‘I’M SICK OF BODY HAIR SHAMING SO I’M TAKING MATTERS INTO MY OWN HANDS!!’
‘The fact that 36 per cent of women still feel judged for having visible body hair is just so ridiculous.
‘So I’m setting myself a goal for summer: grow some koala ears and bring them back from the brink of extinction!’
The comments section was filled with a range of responses, with some people feeling Abbie had shared a little too much – while others loved the message.
‘My God why do we all have to know this and you are getting sponsors for this?’ one person asked.
‘Sometimes people just shave because it looks neat clean and presentable not because someone is judging you.’

‘This is rank,’ complained another, while one more chimed in, ‘Oh please Abbie, don’t!’
‘Just when you thought this chick couldn’t get any more grim,’ another commented, while one more wrote, ‘That’s disgusting and unhygienic for women and men.’
‘Some people just don’t like hair, it’s a sensory thing,’ someone else suggested.
Abbie had lots of people in her corner, though, with many supporting the idea of growing out pubic hair.
‘To the girls against growing it out, you have pubes for a reason. It’s not unhygienic to grow your hair. It’s actually MORE unhygienic to shave it. No ingrown hair, it’s protected against FRICTION!’ wrote one fan.
‘I love doing it and walking around the beach making all the misogynistic men angry over it. I also grow my armpit hair,’ another said.
‘How about we all stop trying to look like cartoons and porn stars while we are at it?’ one more said.
‘I’m so going free range with ya!!!’ yet another chimed in.
