Max Verstappen has welcomed his first child with girlfriend Kelly Piquet.
The F1 star announced the news on Instagram, writing: ‘Welcome to the world, sweet Lily. Our hearts are fuller than ever – you are our greatest gift. We love you so much.’
While Lily is Max’s first child, the model already has a daughter, Penelope, born in 2019, from her previous relationship with Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat, 30.
Despite having a nine-year age gap with Max, 27, Kelly said that the couple’s relationship is thriving because of the mutual understanding they have for each other.

Kelly, said: ‘I think we have a very healthy relationship, easygoing, we have a lot of understanding and support for each other.
‘You would think the age difference could be a challenge, but so far things are going really well.
‘I also really appreciate how he treats Penelope. It’s so sweet to see.’
Kelly is also no stranger to the world of professional racing herself as her father, Nelson Piquet, is a three-time Formula One champion.
His glittering career spanned from 1994 to 2003.
The subject of marriage has been publicly addressed by Max, who said that only ‘time will tell’ if he and Kelly decide to tie the knot.
Max previously opened up about the possibility of having a child with his long-term girlfriend to Brazilian journalist Mariana Becker.
He said: ‘At the end of the day, it’s not something you decide. Sometimes it needs to happen.
‘I don’t know if there’s any God or not, who decides when it’s time to have a baby.
But it would be great to have a child.’
The couple announced that they were expecting their first child together in December of last year.
