Jessie J Shares ‘Post-Baby, Post-Cancer’ Swimsuit Selfie, Celebrates Her ‘Spicy Back’ After Mastectomy

Jessie J Shares ‘Post-Baby, Post-Cancer’ Swimsuit Selfie, Celebrates Her ‘Spicy Back’ After Mastectomy

Jessie J showed off her amazing figure in a black swimsuit as she posed for a bathroom mirror selfie on Instagram after beating cancer.

The Price Tag singer, 37, said she has got her ‘spicy’ back as she modelled the one piece in the sizzling snap shared with her 14.2million followers.

Jessie revealed in June that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and she subsequently underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

She captioned the snap: ‘Post baby, Post cancer, This Aries mamma is starting to get her spicy back’.

It comes after the mother-of-one compared her cancer surgery to an episode of Black Mirror.

The pop star opened up about going under the knife admitting she hates being ‘put under’ with a general anaesthetic because it feels life she’s in an episode of the hit Netflix sci-fi show.

Jessie told the Guardian: ‘I hate being put under. They walk you down. You know when you have emergency surgery you roll down in a bed, but this time I just strolled down with a gown on and my bum hanging out. You feel like you’re in an episode of Black Mirror …

‘Cancer sucks, man, but you know what? Thank f*** I found it early. I had the mastectomy four months ago and my right breast now looks like a grapefruit under a tight bedsheet …

‘[They are now] different sizes. They didn’t do an implant as small as my original. How rude! I thought, no need to bully me, I’m already having a rough time.

‘So rude! It’s funny because I said I’d never get my boobs done because I’ve got OCD, and I know they’d never be perfect. Cancer ruined that plan.’

Jessie went on to admit she believes her life has been peppered by health issues which always seem to happen when she’s experiencing success.

Jessie was working in London’s West End as a child star when she was diagnosed with a heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and she later suffered a minor stoke at the age of 17 shortly after landing a record deal as part of a girl group.

She also damaged her larynx in a 2020 car crash as she was poised to release new music and the accident left her unable to sing for a year.

It comes after Jessie broke down in tears on stage while debuting heartbreaking new songs at the London launch of her new album Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time, after returning to music amid her cancer battle.

The songstress, marked four years since her devastating miscarriage with a track titled Comes In Waves, before singing I’ll Never Know Why, about the loss of her pal and beloved bodyguard Dave who died unexpectedly in 2018.

Jessie was left devastated after the baby loss in 2021, before going on to welcome her son Sky with her basketball player boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman in May 2023.

Speaking to the audience last week, she said: ‘Today marks 4 years that I lost my baby. I don’t know if anyone else but if you have or you know anyone who has saw it,’

‘It’s really f*****g sad and it’s something you can’t ever really prepare for to go through so this song is for anyone who needs that hug. I hope this song can help you as much as it’s helped me’.

It included emotional lyrics: ‘And I hate / How much I miss the future that we never made / Holding onto hope ‘ You’re with me everywhere I go’.

Telling the audience that being a songwriter was the ‘silver lining in the sadness’ because she would put her pain into a song and share it with other people.

Jessie underwent a mastectomy in June as part of her treatment for breast cancer, however she later informed fans she would need a further operation.

Next she broke down after singing the ‘saddest song’ she’d ever written, I’ll Never Know Why, about Dave, who she described as family following his death.

Jessie told the audience: ‘[Dave’s] spirit, his energy… I just feel like he still protects me and keeps me safe. He was my security guard for many, many years’.

She explained how Dave had protected her as she dealt with anxiety attacks and terrifying stalker ordeals after hitting the big time.

‘He would take me on a walk every night after a show and he would be the first person I see in the morning and… I’ve had many people in my life that have come in and out and have been with me the whole time but he was like my big brother’.

‘Not everyone liked him but I loved that man and I still love him so much and I wish he was here to see his children, his family, to see what I’ve achieved so I want to keep him alive in this music and talk about him and hope that being too late for him means it can’t be too late for someone else.’

Following his death she penned in a tribute: ‘The love you had for your children. Was everything. We would laugh till we cried nearly everyday.

‘We created Penelope and the blue Shetland pony together. We talked about our dreams. We talked about what our biggest fears were. You weren’t just my security, we ARE family. 4 years. Me and you.

‘Remember when you got me the blue Shetland pony cake for the end of The Voice Aus. When we went to see Fifty Shades in Aus and giggled the whole way through.

‘When you would text me when I was filming The Voice on the breaks to make me laugh. The late night walks we would take together to get some air. Who would shout “banana” quickest.’
