Rachel Stevens’ ex-husband Alex Bourne has announced his new wife, Lily Amber Bourne, has given birth to their first child – just weeks after the former S Club 7 star admitted she is still ‘grieving’ the end of their marriage.
Property mogul Alex, 47, who split from Rachel, also 47, in 2022 after 13 years together, announced the birth of his son, Sonny Alec Bourne, with 31-year-old art dealer Lily in a joint post on Instagram on Sunday.
The couple – who tied the knot in February after meeting last year – shared a sweet photo of the newborn in a white onesie.
In the caption, the duo wrote: ‘One whole week of loving you, our sweet boy. You have completely changed our lives and we love you more than life itself. I can’t believe you’re ours. 21.11.25 xo.’
The couple’s friends and family were quick to comment, with one writing: ‘Wonderful news and huge congratulations to you all’, while another added: ‘Welcome to the world, Sonny!’

While Sonny is their first child together, Alex has two daughters – Amelie, 15, and Minnie, eleven – from his marriage to childhood sweetheart Rachel.
Last month, Rachel revealed that she was still processing the emotional fallout of the divorce, admitting she never fully mourned the end of her marriage because she ‘put a lid’ on her emotions.
She said: ‘Some days you feel empowered… and then other days you feel like you just wanna cry under the duvet and hide…
‘I went from being married and then went into another long relationship, and I don’t know if I actually fully grieved the loss of my marriage.’
Rachel, who also recently split from her Dancing On Ice professional partner-turned-boyfriend Brendyn Hatfield after almost two years together, added: ‘I constantly felt like my nervous system was on fight or flight.’
The singer has also spoken openly about the ‘terrifying’ process of ending her marriage to Alex and restructuring life as co-parents.
The pair have long said they remain committed to raising their daughters amicably, with Alex previously describing their blended family as ‘supportive’ and ‘aligned’.

Speaking about her break-up frpom Alex, Rachel previously said: ‘[The split] was messy. I knew that we were growing, that I was growing apart, but I was in turmoil, because first of all my kids’ (pictured with ex Alex in 2011)
Alex and Lily met in early 2024 before becoming engaged last summer during a romantic stroll on Hampstead Heath.
They wed in a rustic ceremony at Lime Kiln Lodges in East Sussex, with Amelie and Minnie stepping into the role of bridesmaids. Rachel was not seen at the wedding.
Lily – who runs contemporary gallery projects – wore a bespoke lace gown for their winter wedding, with the couple later describing the celebration as ‘Cloud Nine’.
The pair confirmed their pregnancy earlier this year, with Lily sharing a photo on Instagram of her cradling her bump. ‘A new chapter,’ she wrote at the time.
Alex has spoken about finding love again after the ‘upheaval’ of divorce, describing Lily as ‘a beautiful person inside and out’ and calling himself a ‘romantic and passionate person’ who still believed in marriage.
Last year, he said he felt ‘very grateful’ for his second chance at love.
He has also said his daughters ‘absolutely adore’ Lily and emphasised that he and Rachel had tried to avoid ‘animosity’ while introducing new partners.
Last week, Rachel revealed how falling for her Dancing On Ice partner Brendyn led to her ‘messy and scary’ split from her ex-husband Alex (pictured on the show in February 2022)
Last year, he said: ‘Everything has been handled with a lot of sensitivity and respect. Our children are everything and all we want is for them to be happy.’
Rachel echoed that sentiment, telling BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour that co-parenting with Alex had remained her top priority: ‘Their dad is a great dad and we’ve always been so aligned with keeping them really safe in it’.
But the singer also admitted that navigating heartbreak, public scrutiny and new romance had left her emotionally drained.
She reflected on her split from Alex, describing it as ‘jumping off a cliff’ and revealing that she had struggled to confront how deeply the breakup affected her.
She said: ‘I put the smile on and turned up and became the person that I thought I should be and got very lost along the way. When I feel anything that’s sort of very emotional I withdraw… so I’m really learning to reach out and be gentle with myself.’
Rachel insisted she hadn’t given up on love, calling herself a ‘hopeless romantic’ and saying she still dreamed of ‘movie love’.
