High-profile media couple Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons have snapped up a glorious waterfront penthouse on Sydney’s lower north shore.

The pair reportedly spent over $15million on the four-bedroom, two-bathroom Mosman pad, which is located on the top floor of a heritage-listed block.

Located on a headland overlooking Sydney Harbour, the vintage World War I-era sandstone building offers stunning views of the famed location.

The sale comes after Wilkinson and FitzSimons recently off-loaded their mansion in nearby Cremorne for an estimated $23 million.

The new purchase comes after the amazing penthouse hit the market back in February with a listing price of $15 million to $16.5 million.

It’s believed that Wilkinson and FitzSimons got their hands on the luxury property at the ‘lower end’ of the eye-watering price guide, reported The Sunday Telegraph.

Situated 9 km from the CBD in one of Sydney’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, the apartment sits on the top floor of the building, known as ‘The Castle’ on Curraghbeena Point.

The penthouse makes the most of the water views with floor-to-ceiling glass walls and a roomy open plan layout.

Features include a large, ultra-modern kitchen with a butler’s pantry, a private office that can be used as a fourth bedroom and a wet bar.

One whole corner of the sprawling apartment is dedicated to the main bedroom and offers a lavish en suite with heated floors and a covered balcony.

The rooftop is a major highlight, boasting a Teppanyaki BBQ, a ‘hidden’ turret kitchen and an open rooftop bathtub.

Built in 1914, the block, which features a stone turret, hosts six apartments and offers residents a large garden area, a jetty and a ‘secret cave’.

It comes after Wilkinson and FitzSimons finally sold their palatial Sydney mansion after it sat on the market for several months after it failed to go under the hammer at auction.

In August, the power couple unsuccessfully tried to sell the Cremorne property, which had a $24.5 million reserve price.

Although the property’s listing secured more than 45,000 page views on realestate.com.au after it was first listed for sale, it struggled for some time to attract genuine interest.

The pair purchased the historic residence, known as Ingleneuk, in 1998 for just $2.95 million, meaning a sale anywhere near the reserve would deliver them a staggering profit of more than $20 million.

Built in 1903 and restored to its full glory by the couple, the six-bedroom home sits on a sprawling 3,125 sqm block with sweeping harbour views, a tennis court, heated pool and manicured gardens.

They also snapped up two neighbouring blocks to return the estate to its original size and secure rare dual-frontage – making the property one of the Lower North Shore’s most prestigious addresses.

Over the years, the pair have hosted a wealth of Aussie celebrities at the property, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Hugh Jackman.

The mansion, in its original Edwardian condition, offers panoramic harbour and city views, and has retained all its remarkable features, including prominent eaves.
