Heidi Klum Shares Controversial ‘Worm and Parasite Cleanse’ Results

Heidi Klum has finally revealed the results of her controversial ‘worm and parasite cleanse.’

The 52-year-old supermodel first shared the plans for her eyebrow-raising cleanse while speaking to the Wall Street Journal in August. 

‘Everything I’m getting on my Instagram feed at the moment is about worms and parasites. So I’m doing a worm cleanse and parasite cleanse with my husband,’ Klum, who is married to rocker Tom Kaulitz, told the publication at the time.

‘I heard that you’re supposed to do this once a year, and I’ve never done it. So I feel like I’m really behind. I don’t know what the heck is going to come out.’ 

Klum confirmed to PEOPLE on Saturday that she and Kaulitz went through with the cleanse just before her annual Halloween party in October.

As to what might have come out of the two stars during the cleanse, Klum joked that her and Kaulitz did not ‘inspect anything.’

‘So many people asked me too, like, “What happened?” I’m like, “I don’t even know if anything happened,’ she admitted.

Klum said the cleanse ‘just felt good’ and that ‘if there are any [worms or parasites], then I hope that they were leaving the body, because I hear so many people talk about this all the time.’

Klum’s husband was by her side for the entire process, which made doing the cleanse more tolerable for her. 

‘It’s easier to do this with a partner in the morning because you have to drink this weird stuff,’ she explained. 

‘It’s all herbal, but nonetheless it’s yucky and you have to do this routine of doing it every day in order to kill it in all of the eggs, apparently.’

‘You have to do two rounds instead of two weeks. We did two rounds in order to hopefully kill eggs and things. But yeah, we felt great afterwards.’ 

She originally told the Wall Street Journal that she did not have any evidence of worms or parasites in her body but wanted to try the cleanse anyway.

‘If you are someone who eats raw things every now and then, like, for example, sushi,’ she said.

‘There are pills. They have all of these herbs. There’s a lot of clove in there. The parasite hates clove. They also hate the seeds from a papaya.’

She added: ‘We have all this metal inside of us, and it’s also very important that you use this de-metaling stuff.’ 

Though experts warn against doing holistic cleanses of the same nature and encourage people who believe they have worms or parasites to seek help from medical professionals.
