Olivia Attwood has opened up about her recent health scare after she was forced to pull out of Loose Women moments before going on air.
The former Love Islander, 34, had been expected to join Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore for the show, but when the episode opened, Olivia was missing.
The presenter addressed fans after she shared a photo which showed a medic crouched beside her with equipment laid out on the floor.Â
Explaining why she vanished from the ITV show’s line-up, Olivia said: ‘I’m really sorry to anyone that was expecting me to be on Loose Women today.
‘Got to work and my body finally said no. Thank you to the team for looking after me. Back soon.’
Later, she took to TikTok to reveal she had been stuck down with strep throat and flu and told how much the illness has knocked her off her feet.

Lying on the sofa in a pair of grey pyjamas, Olivia said that she has been completely ‘defeated’ by the sudden illness.Â
She admitted: ‘I’m the firstborn daughter, first granddaughter, Taurus. I don’t listen to anyone. Apparently that includes my body. I just don’t like being defeated.
‘This f***** thing has defeated me. And now I’m on like 24 hours of doctor ordered lying about, being f****** bone idle is what I call it.’
She added: ‘My half English, half German DNA is not coping well with being sedentary on the ADHD. Yeah.
‘So anyone got any tips on how I can remain sedentary so I can get better? Because I have a f******* crazy f******* schedule next week.’
Trying to distract herself, Olivia even asked followers for a film recommendation, saying: ‘I may watch Frankenstein on Netflix. Has anyone watched it?
‘Can you just tell me, is it sad? I don’t want to feel sad. I feel like some of the clips I’ve seen look really sad. If it like breaks your heart, my heart’s already broken because I had to let down my Loose Women today. So I need to see something scary or funny.’
As the day went on, Olivia then switched social media platforms and asked her Instagram followers to keep her company.
She added that she was not coping well with being sedentary whilst having ADHD before asking her followers for film recommendations whilst she rested
Later she took to Instagram asking her followers to keep her company and when a fan asked Olivia how she was feeling, she gave more detail into what was wrong with her
The TV star also admitted that her illness may have had something to do with the fact she doesn’t like to slow down
When a fan asked Olivia how she was feeling, Olivia gave more detail into what was wrong with her. She wrote back: ‘Just so crap tbh. I have basically had a chest infection then strep throat and now some flu type thing and I just can’t throw it off.’Â
Another fan wrote that she too was ill and told Olivia it didn’t suit their personality.
Agreeing with her, the TV star also admitted her illness may have had something to do with the fact she doesn’t like to slow down.Â
‘I guess I need to unpack this more in therapy but I have such a hard mental issue with slowing down’ she wrote.Â
‘Even though I practically slid off the glam chair yesterday and gave everyone a fright I still woke up this am though – wow what a f***ing waste of a day and how pathetic I had let everyone down.’
She then added that it’s ‘hell’ being her brain.
Support quickly poured in beneath the video, with fans offering get-well messages and a flood of viewing suggestions while she rests.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Olivia would be the latest famous face to join This Morning’s long list of hosts.
It comes after Olivia was forced to call in medics after ‘disappearing’ from Loose Women on Friday over a sudden health scare
The former Love Island star kept fans updated on her wellbeing, sharing a snap of her being attended by medics at the ITV studios
Joining hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on the sofa in June, Olivia said: ‘I will be joining you guys on the hosting team on the other side of the couch
‘It’s a huge honour, I’ve grown up watching this show and having done Loose Women, this feels very natural.’
Straight-talking Olivia shot to fame thanks to her stint in the Love Island villa in the summer of 2017, which saw her reach the show final with her ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes, who she dated until February 2018.
The former grid girl has since become a household name and a regular face on TV, appearing on The Only Way Is Essex, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, This Morning and Loose Women.
Olivia has also fronted many of her own shows and presented Bad Boyfriends, Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection – admitting she has ‘bitten the hands off’ TV executives for ‘big jobs, little jobs, whatever I could get’.
