Alice Liveing has revealed she was rushed to hospital with unusual bleeding just weeks after giving birth.
The fitness influencer, 32, welcomed a daughter named Jeannie with her husband Patrick Murphy last month, admitting her baby’s delivery was ‘wild’ and ‘unexpected.’
But taking to Instagram on Friday, Alice shared a picture of a hospital bed as she revealed she had undergone a scan after experiencing concerning post-birth symptoms.
Alice said she had noticed some unusual post-birth bleeding in the last week and had gone to see her GP.
She was then sent for a scan where it was found she had ‘retained products’ – the presence of remaining placental or fetal tissue in the uterus.
Alice wrote: ‘Not the news I wanted today, but want to share in case it’s helpful or makes anyone else get their’s checked.

‘I had some unusual post-birth bleeding over the last week or so and saw my GP for a scan. Turns out I have some ‘retained products’ and am now waiting for the plan of action to deal with this.
‘It’s these ‘little things’ you always try and write off as being normal post hvaing a baby that it can be worth getting checked.
‘I’m sadly outside of the 28-day window to receive triage care from the hospital hence needing to go down the GP route but I’m glad I did and will keep you posted with next steps for anyone who might experiencing similar.’
In the next slide, Alice shared a snippet from Google’s AI results detailing what abnormal post-birth bleeding can look like and when to seek medical attention.
She added: ‘Mine was mainly the colour of my bleeding. It was a bright, bright red with large clots (sorry TMI) from around 25 days post birth.’
Alice went on to say that she is hoping to soon get back to work sharing videos after the birth and health issues, as she asked fans what they would like to see from her.
‘I really want to start making content again and getting back in my work flow,’ she said.
‘I’ve needed to take this time to really survive the last few weeks, but now I’d love a focus of trying to achieve some baby steps towards bringing a bit of work back in.’

The fitness influencer gave birth to a daughter named Jeannie with her husband Patrick Murphy last month, admitting her daughter’s delivery was ‘wild’ and ‘unexpected’
Earlier this month, Alice shared candid insight into her life as a new mother, admitting she’s struggling to leave the house, three weeks after welcoming her first child.
In a series of posts on her Instagram Stories, Alice admitted that ‘never fully understood or appreciated’ the challenges of raising a newborn baby, and she’s struggled to find the time to get out and about.
The social media star added that ‘exercise hasn’t even crossed her mind’ because she ‘hasn’t had a second’ between caring for her baby girl.
She explained: ‘I’ll tell you one thing I never appreciated before having a baby and that is the people that are like ‘I literally haven’t even brushed my teeth and it’s one o’clock’ or the people that are like ‘I haven’t left the house and it’s 4pm in the afternoon’.
‘And I never fully understood or appreciated that that is the reality of having a tiny baby – and I always thought I’d be that person that’s like ‘You know how hard can it be, surely’.
‘Like I had such, such good intentions of being like “I’m going to go for a walk every morning, get outside, get daylight” and honestly it is just so much harder.
‘For example today, Jeannie has been feeding on and off. She had a really good sleep this morning but that was when I needed to shower and get myself dressed, so I did manage to do that.
Alice shared the happy news she’d given a birth to a baby girl last month, in an ‘unexpected way’, alongside a slew of adorable snaps of her baby girl
Alice also shared a later post sharing some of the challenges she’s faced while ‘solo parenting,’ after her husband Patrick returned to work following his paternity leave
‘Then I was like “I’ll feed her and get her down in the pram, great”‘ She literally closed her eyes and then started screaming, got her, then threw up all over me, in my hair, all down my front.
‘And obviously if you have another pair of hands it’s great because when Paddy was here for his paternity leave for two weeks it was fine because I would be like ‘Oh can you take her and I’ll go and do this and then I’ll take her and you go and do that’.
‘But when it’s me on my own I just cannot. My intention was, I’m going to leave the house at midday. I’m going to go out for a walk at midday and get some fresh air, best intentions but it’s not going to happen.
‘She threw up all over me, I had to change her again and put her in a whole new outfit, had to wash myself down, then we’re back at square one with feeding because she’s then hungry again.
‘So I get it, I fully get it and I appreciate, I fully appreciate when people say how hard it is to even fit in 10 minutes of exercise.
‘I haven’t even thought about exercise and I’m coming up to three weeks postpartum. It hasn’t even crossed my mind because I haven’t had a second.’
