Award-winning adult content creator Alexis Fawx has issued a warning to young women who think they can earn thousands of dollars on OnlyFans overnight.
The pornstar, 50, who joined the industry in 2010 following a white collar career and a stint in the US Air Force, tells Daily Mail the adult website is now ‘oversaturated’.Â
She says girls looking to make a quick buck will be left disappointed unless they already have a large social media following or brand name to back them up.Â
‘I’m lucky because I got in [the porn industry] before this, and now I’m here with this. I’ve already gone in with a brand name,’ she says.
‘I don’t want to make it sound like it’s super easy to jump on OnlyFans or any of these sites for anybody to just be making tens of thousands of dollars right away.Â
‘You do need to be consistent. You need to work out what you really want to do. You have to put a lot of time in.’Â

Alexis goes on to say that even those who put in the work still need a second income source because it’s too difficult to make consistent money on OnlyFans.Â
‘It’s a bit oversaturated on some of the apps, so I couldn’t even imagine getting in now without having the brand,’ she adds.Â
‘Unless you’re coming in with one of these OF agencies that are farming social media and they’re using AI.Â
‘They’re just running you from point A to point B, which mainly makes you work for them in some weird way. I’m not a big fan of the OF agencies.’Â
She continues: ‘You definitely have to come in with some sort of following. It will definitely help you out. You’ll be able to get your subscribers to your page.’
Alexis certainly has the experience to back up her talk, as she is considered one of the most successful adult stars in the porn industry.Â
She has frequently taken out the crown at the AVN Awards, XBIZ/XMA Awards, XMA Content Creator Awards and Nightmoves Awards.
But Alexis didn’t become a pornographic actress until a little later in life, dipping her toe into the industry in July 2010 when she was around 35 years old.Â

Before that, the buxom beauty worked white collar jobs after earning a degree in physiological psychology and serving in the US Air Force.Â
She says she got into the military in February 1994 after she graduated high school, adding that she wanted to get out of her ‘small town of Pennsylvania’.Â
‘It was funny because I was a punk rock kid. I had a mohawk. I moved out when I was in high school… I’ve never followed any program other than my own,’ she says.
‘My whole life changed. I did really well when I was in the military. I made Airman of the Year and Airman of the Quarter several times. I really excelled.’
‘I even graduated top of class from my tech school… Then I got shipped off to Grand Forks, North Dakota and I was there pretty much my entire time.’
Alexis left the military after her father got sick, flying home to Baltimore when she finished out her college studies. Â
From there, she says she ‘flipped a coin’ with her mother to decide if she wanted to go to Phoenix, Arizona or Miami, Florida.
The adult star ended up going to Miami, where she worked in litigation consulting and did a stint as a patent paralegal. Â

‘I again became very bored. It was just so monotonous… I just wanted to change my entire life, so I took some time off and quit everything,’ she says.
Eventually, Alexis answered an ad on Craigslist to be an extra in the adult film Dancing Bears, during which time she put her hand up to participate in a sex scene.
All these years later, Alexis says she still attributes some of her success to the skills she learned while in the military.Â
‘For me, it gave me structure, it also gave me work ethic. It gave me a way of thinking that nothing is going to last forever—good or bad,’ she adds.
‘With the right mindset, you can make it through anything… It really helped me a lot. I probably use a lot more of those skills today than I did in college.’Â
Alexis is currently in Brisbane to attend the SXhibition this weekend, from November 28 to 30.Â
