Fans react to Kristen Bell hosting 2025 SAG Awards and bold move to parody Frozen song in opening monologue

Kristen Bell had fans applauding over her opening monologue at the 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The Nobody Wants This star, 44, hosted this year’s star-studded soirée and award ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

In her opening monologue, she sang a parody of the Frozen song, Do You Want to Build a Snowman?, as a montage of SAG nominees’ earliest acting roles played on the big screen.

The actress, who voice acted as Anna in the Disney animated movie and originally sang the song from the motion picture soundtrack, had the crowd of celebrities in smiles as well as those watching from home.

Among the many famous names included in the montage included Jamie Lee Curtis, Eva Longoria, Selena Gomez, Colin Farrell, Timothee Chalamet, Elle Fanning.

Jeff Bridges, Harrison Ford, Andrew Scott, Cate Blanchett, Ralph Fiennes, Michelle Yeoh and many more were also honorable mentions.

Bell — who is also nominated for best performance by a female actor in a comedy series for Nobody Wants This — broke out into song with a parody of the hit from Frozen.

She sang about the joy of acting as she sang: Do You Want to Be an Actor? As she sang, a heartfelt and hilarious montage of each nominees’ earliest roles played on the screen.

‘It can be a bumpy ride,’ she sang as actors in the audience reacted to seeing their younger selves make an appearance in the montage.

‘Sometimes there’s no stability. Put aside your pride. But everybody started somewhere as we do.’

She also hilariously included a clip of herself in her own first role at the very end of the monologue.

Many viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to compliment her and said her opening monologue was ‘so good!’

‘Kristen nailed that,’ fans gushed while others said the montage made them ‘cry.’

Many X users tweeted about her monologue alongside GIFs of famous actors clapping to applaud her.

According to the official website, the SAG Awards have ‘the largest voting body on the awards circuit.’

Pamela Anderson, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Timothée Chalamet are just some of the A-list stars who snagged nominations at this year’s ceremony.

Unlike prior years, the official SAG Awards nomination ceremony was canceled for 2025 in wake of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that broke out in January.

Instead, SAG-AFTRA shared the nominations online.

The musical blockbuster Wicked — based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical — leads the nominations for SAG’s top film honors with five nods.

Wicked’s nominations include best actress (Cynthia Erivo), best supporting actress (Ariana Grande), best supporting actor (Jonathan Bailey), best ensemble cast and best stunt cast.

The other nominees for the SAG award for best ensemble cast are the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, papal selection drama Conclave, Anora, the story of a sex worker who marries the son of a Russian oligarch, and Golden Globe winner Emilia Perez.

A Complete Unknown star Chalamet is nominated for best actor for his portrayal of the folk legend.
