Newly single Pete Wicks has moved into a one-bedroom bachelor pad apartment following his split from Maura Higgins.

The former Strictly star, 37, relocated to the east London city digs on Valentine’s Day as it was revealed his romance with Maura was over. 

And now Pete, whose new home costs £2,400 per month, will be living further away from his ex-girlfriend, 34, who recently purchased a £1.25million house in Essex after taking part in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Pete’s move signifies a new chapter as he sets himself up in a high-rise flat building, which boasts an onsite gym, rooftop gardens, bar, and is even pet friendly, perfect for the TOWIE star’s two French rescue bulldogs, Eric and Peggy.

Documenting the move on his Instagram story, Pete shared an image of him loading boxes into a lift followed by a photograph of his new view from the London abode.

The Essex-born star, who announced he will be hosting a new radio show on Kiss with Olivia Attwood, wore a hat with the slogan ‘smoke and mirrors’ as he packed up his life last week.

On Friday, MailOnline revealed that Pete and Maura had called time on their romance, which saw the couple support each other throughout their respective gigs on Strictly and I’m A Celeb

A source told MailOnline: ‘Pete now has a second home, a one-bedroom apartment which gives him easy access to central London.

‘It’s exactly what he needs right now given he’s constantly working and will be co-hosting his Kiss radio show with Olivia every Sunday too.

‘He still has his home in Essex so essentially, he has the best of both worlds.

‘Moving is stressful for anyone but Pete relocated on Valentine’s Day as his breakup from Maura was revealed… it was definitely an intense weekend.’

On Friday, MailOnline revealed that Pete and Maura had called time on their romance, which saw the couple support each other throughout their respective gigs on Strictly and I’m A Celeb.  

According to reports, their relationship came to a dramatic end after Maura discovered that Pete was messaging other women, claims he denies.  

The former Love Island star put her heartbreak behind her wearing a red-hot revenge dress at celebrity restaurant Sheesh in Mayfair on Valentine’s Day but had cross words for Pete when asked about her ex.

When asked where Pete was, she was filmed saying: ‘I don’t know, probably cheating’ with sources close to the Strictly semifinalist later revealing he was ‘shocked’ by the unfair accusations.

Maura claimed Pete was ‘probably cheating’ after being asked about his whereabouts on Valentine’s Day evening as she celebrated her single status at celebrity restaurant Sheesh

The former Love Island star had previously told a podcast she ‘adored him’, while Pete had called her ‘super-intelligent’ and ‘incredibly witty’ 

Maura sent herself a bouquet of red roses with a card which read: ‘To Me, Love Me’ on Valentine’s Day before posting glamorous photos on her Instagram profile alongside the caption: ‘Left on Red.’

She had previously told a podcast she ‘adored him’, while Pete had called her ‘super-intelligent’ and ‘incredibly witty.’   

When probed about his romance with Maura, the podcast host and author explained they had known each other for six years.

He added: ‘We’re very close. But a lot of being in the public eye is that people assume that you have to tell everyone all about your private life and I’ve never, never done that.’

During his time on Strictly, Pete was also linked to his professional partner Jowita Przystal but the pair insisted that nothing was going on between them.

However, they did form a close bond, even reaching the semifinal stages of the competition despite Pete receiving low marks on the leaderboard.

He said: ‘Jowita was a really amazing, beautiful person. One thing I’ve taken away from Strictly is a friend for life in her…’
