Robin Bailey’s Emotional Farewell on Last Day After Show Axed

Radio star Robin Bailey has been left devastated after her radio show was axed.

The KIIS FM host looked very emotional outside her Brisbane studios after it was revealed she and her fellow breakfast stars Kip Wightman and Corey Oates were wrapping up their show two weeks early.

She was seen leaning against a car wiping away tears from her cheek.

Robin, who first arrived on the Brisbane radio scene in 1995, was glassy-eyed and had her arms across her chest, clearly distressed by the ordeal.

She was later seen pausing on the stairs to gather herself before re-entering the building.

The 55-year-old wore a pair of snakeskin mini shorts and a brown shirt, complete with layered bangles and a pair of Birkenstock thongs.

It was announced in October that Brisbane breakfast hosts Kip, Corey and Robin would be leaving the airwaves by the end of the year.

However, despite claims that they would wrap up their show on December 12, the trio said this week they would be doing their final show this Friday.

They shared a short clip to their Instagram on Thursday with the title ‘2nd last show stitch-up’, confirming their plans to leave earlier than their slated exit.

The surprise departure comes as Kip and Corey revealed their next career move – a Brisbane Broncos-themed podcast with NRL great Sam Thaiday.

The Unofficial Broncos Podcast with Sammy, Oatsey and Kip is slated to launch in February 2026.

Speaking about the pair’s new appointment, Kip was quick to joke about their recent unemployment.

‘Look, when the radio station said “We’re making changes” we thought that meant new chairs,’ he said in a statement.

‘Turns out the “changes” were us leaving. So yeah, podcasting felt like a natural step down.’

A self-effacing Corey added that he joined the podcast as he didn’t want his KIIS co-star to ‘suffer alone’.

‘Kip lost his job, and I thought, why should he suffer alone?’ he said.

‘Besides, Sammy said he’d shout lunch if I joined, and I’m easily convinced.’

News of the trio’s axing came just a couple of months after former Brisbane Broncos star Corey signed on to the show after retiring from the NRL last year.

In a statement released by ARN, it was revealed that the show’s final broadcast will air on December 12.

A spokesperson went on to praise the hosts for their ‘hard work, creativity and commitment to the Brisbane audience.’

‘Their contribution has been significant and will be celebrated in the weeks ahead,’ the statement added.

However, the trio’s replacement – Craig ‘Lowie’ Low – raised more than a few eyebrows when announced in October.

Insiders slammed the appointment with one telling the Courier Mail the shock jock was a ‘poor man’s Kyle Sandilands’.

‘I feel so bad that the team is going to be replaced with someone like that,’ the source said. ‘It just makes me sick.’
